Imogen
Gretchen
I like Imogen, I don't like Gretchen, though Gretel or Greta may be nice.

You could go Kayley (not sure how you'd spell it) But that could be a mix of Kaye and Lily
I voted Imogen, well I always try it with the surname and when I tried Gretchen with yours something else popped into my head when they were said together, I will pm you![]()
I like Imogen as well but not Gretchen, i can't imagine it on a little girl thats all but i don't mind Greta!
Haha willow. I hadn't thought of that. Definitely re-thinking now.
I like Greta and Gretel too, but Gretchen sounds best with our surname. Well it did until willow put it together for me
I don't think I'm ever going to sell DH on Gretchen anyway. It'd be so much easier if we were having a boy. We've had a boy name agreed on since I was 16 weeks with DD1!
Thanks everyone for your feedback.
I think Imogen is lovely. LOVE Gretel. I like Gretchen but I guess it's out?
How about your mum's favourite flower for a middle name? A way of connecting to the flower meaning of her name but something she would have liked![]()
Her favourite flower was orchid - not sure how to turn that into a name.
Ah, well I just googled Orchid to see if they were known by any other names, and to see what 'orchid' meant. I'd be thinking it's definitely out. Orchid comes from the Greek word meaning testicleSo yeah not sure that's gonna cut it either

Any time![]()
I searched for names meaning Orchid on thinkbabynames and only got one...
Orquidea \o-rqui-dea, or-quidea\ as a girl's name is of Spanish origin, and the meaning of Orquidea is "orchid".
I think people will be content that it means orchid and not testicle!
Otherwise perhaps a name that means flower?
Anemone ... Greek mythology: the name of a nymph who was turned into a flower.
Ayanna ... "Beautiful flower."
Blossom ... "Flower-like." Generic flower name first used in the 19th century as an affectionate pet name for a young girl.
Calantha ... "Beautiful flower."
Dianthe ... "Flower of the gods."
Fleur ... "Flower."
Flora ... "Flower."
Hanako ... "Flower child."
Kalina ... "Flower."
Peri ... Perah is an Israeli name meaning "flower".
Philantha ... "Lover of flowers."
Xeni ... "Protector of plants, flowers."
Otherwise passing on Kaye would be lovely. Perhaps Kayte if you don't mind/wanted to alter it a bit?
