18 months for DD.
18 months for DD.
It's so individual. DD was still napping at 3.5.
DS gave them up bang on 2, but had been doing what your DD is for a while. He goes to bed at 6 easily....far more preferable to me than the 9-10pm bedtime when he does have a sleep.
Thanks guys!
Yep, Kim, when DD does have a sleep it's 9pm before she goes to bed and even that's with a battle!!
Little rascals.
Glad you're back Sue.
Some times he even takes himself to bed at 5 or earlier....go your hardest little guy![]()
DD is 32 months (wow is ages since have worked out months) and for past month or so, sometimes has a nap sometimes doesn't, sometimes she asks for quiet time and falls asleep. I enjoy the freedom not needing that day nap brings when going out and about (DS just naps on the run) and the fact she goes to sleep and hour or so earlier if she doesn't nap - but I miss the free time in the middle of the day as I could normally convince DS to sleep at same time. We have always associated the need to nap with needing energy for the afternoon activities - so if we have a late night planned (last night went to cricket) she can be convinced to have a nap by explaining the situation so it works quite well. She is not really grumpy due to it so just going with the flow.
that's the only possible explanation!
Welcome back hun. It's great to see you here again!!
I think it varies greatly. There are some kids that have started school with my boys who still have sleeps (well they were until they started school, and even then the son of a friend fell asleep at lunchtime at school in the first week!). My first DS didn't sleep daily beyond about 2, but would sleep sometimes until mid-way through his kindy year. DS2 who was the greatest day sleeper until 3 - up to 4 hours a day - stopped as soon as he started 3yo kindy. He did sometimes sleep on days that he was home though, and even had a sleep yesterday.
