DD is 32 months (wow is ages since have worked out months) and for past month or so, sometimes has a nap sometimes doesn't, sometimes she asks for quiet time and falls asleep. I enjoy the freedom not needing that day nap brings when going out and about (DS just naps on the run) and the fact she goes to sleep and hour or so earlier if she doesn't nap - but I miss the free time in the middle of the day as I could normally convince DS to sleep at same time. We have always associated the need to nap with needing energy for the afternoon activities - so if we have a late night planned (last night went to cricket) she can be convinced to have a nap by explaining the situation so it works quite well. She is not really grumpy due to it so just going with the flow.
