Which breakfast cereal for your toddler?

I have been giving DS (16months) weetbix for breakfast every morning for goodness knows how long. I usually put some fruit or some cinamon on them but the past few days he has been spitting them out. I think it is finally time we changed cereals!
What do you give your child? And how much? (Weetbix have been so easy! 2 every morning).

Toby loves Weetbix too! Other than the "baby" cereals, thats pretty much as far as we've gone. He's had rice bubbles a few times too!

DD1 goes between weetbix, sultana bran and her favourite, Porridge. Sometimes she even combines them!!

Porridge here too and rice bubbles. Now DD eats muesli as she HAS to have what mummy has - as she has a peanut allergy I found that Arnold's Farm is one of the only ones that is made in a plant that doesn't produce anything with tree nuts.

    Porridge - cooking and keeping

We're big big porridge fans in our house but If you're not wanting to go through the hassle of making porridge every morning you can cook up a big batch and keep it in the fridge for a few days.

When you're ready you scoop out the amount you want, mix it up with some milk or soy milk (whatever you prefer) to the right consistency and then warm it gently in a pot or in the microwave.

Just takes the morning stress out of it.

Porridge fans here as well.. DS (20 months) loves Porridge with honey. Everymorning he wakes up and says POK, milk, honey, cook.. hehehe.. he used to have 2 weetbix everymorning up until our trip down south in October where he started spitting it out. Then from then on he changed to Porridge.

Porridge is great for them -very healthy and also low GI too. Sultana bran is also quite good and if you add a little hot water to it, you still get the same consistency as weetbix.

Em, you can get cornflakes sweetened with fruit juice in the health food aisle. I think they are organic too. Autie loves them for a change now and then.

Our favourite is rice puffs (the ones in the health food aisle) with some milk (soy for us but whatever) and some acidopholus yoghurt. Put in some ground linseed and nuts like cashew and pistacio and then if you want to sweeten a little put a dash of honey. But if I can't be bothered it is just the rice puffs or weetbix, or porridge in winter.

Weetbix is the clear fave in our household, usually mixed with some puree fruit. The other choice is Just Right - usually the tropical mix - yummo.

bircher mueslie - I make up a big batch every week and just serve it every morning. very easy, just mueslie, a grated apple, a tub of natural yogurt and honey to sweeten. Then serve with frozen berries YUM!

DS used to have Weetbix every morning quite happily, however, he has now reached the stage where he will eat bugger all of anything, he will just graze all day. He is very rarely interested in brekky at all now. He usually just has yogurt and a piece of fruit
