My birthday and my DD2's birthday are the other side of Christmas (5th and 11th of Jan although due in Dec was late which could happen to anyone too remember - my first was born at 38w lol) but I absolutely LOVED having my birthday at this time growing up and even now! Firstly, if you don't get the things you were hoping for in the first event (Christmas or birthday) then you have another chance! Secondly, you can take advantage of the sales with any money or certificate gifts!! Thirdly, your birthday is at a time where you'll never have to go to school for it. Fourth, you see a lot of extended family at this time so no chance of being forgotten because people wait till the next chance they see you instead of posting. Fifth, you have an option to combine your Christmas and birthday wishes into a much bigger present lol.

Forgot one that is you are so excited and focused on the first event you kind of forget about the other than after it when others are feeling that post extreme excited down shift in mood you get the surprise realization of having something else to look forward to!!!
