Hi PZ and MG! I'm due Dec 28th, but baby is being delivered tomorrow due to some complications. My birthday is Dec 31st

I think it's a great time of year mainly for the same reasons already said, warm weather, school holidays, the atmosphere of excitement at that time if year... I'm an excitable person and I find that I really look forward to all of the celebrations in December, so adding my birthday and now my baby's birthday makes it all the more exciting!

Pregnancy and baby-wise, not being pregnant during the worst heat of summer has been good, and I wasn't really showing in winter either-meant I could be fairly flexible with my maternity wardrobe Doctors may take holidays over Christmas/New Year, but realistically they could do that anytime, and they have fill ins available usually anyway. We took advantage of Big W and Target Christmas laybys to get some stuff for baby, spread the payments out longer and also meant it wasn't laying around through the whole pregnancy. Great sales too once baby is here! I think this will be handy for birthdays too in future.

Some family members have complained at times (DPs mother, for example) told us it was terrible timing, and kept saying how terrible it would be if baby was born near Christmas. Obviously she overlooked that my bday is 6 days after Christmas! She has piped down now, but there's one in every bunch that will object, regardless of baby's due date!

I'm sure you'll embrace it no matter what, and I feel that if it became an issue being so close to Christmas, we could celebrate a week earlier or something, it's not unheard of for kids birthday parties that fall during the week or school term.

Good luck!
