the best advice i could properly let out would be to do what ever works. With me and Izzy, I Used to talk to her or read her whilst she is breastfeeding during the day (9timesout of 10) she was fast asleep. But at night time, i didn't talk, just said hello (low hush voice) kept all the lights low . . . This seem to help heaps with me, hope you get some rest shortly!

I don't agree with the feed play sleep intil they are older.

Hi all, thank you so much for getting back to me, you've really helped put things into perspective.
That said, I would kill for a 4 hour stretch at night - the best he's managed is 3, and then back to 2 again. At least that means he can do it, hey? Light at the end of the tunnel and all that
Charlyfrog, I'm taking your advice and making sure we have a little play, so at least he's not feeding and going straight back to sleep.
J can stay awake for a couple of hours some mornings, so I guess I forgot that might not be the best thing or something to expect from him just yet.
FJ, thanks for your reply; yes he is bfing, and seems to settle ok after a few grunts at night once he's fed, but sometimes I wonder whether it is hunger waking him or just needing to fart, cos that's the outcome sometimes just as I'm coming to get him. At that point I figure I'm awake, may as well feed. Maybe i should just leave him that bit longer and see what happens?
Sneaking in an extra feed doesn't seem to make much difference, he's still becoming restless 2 hours later.
As I said, maybe I'm misreading his signs. Or maybe this is just how it is going to be for now.
Either way, I feel better - thanks!
