    I'm not sure either....but it would probably have something to do with what other hydration he/she is getting (ie other than water)

    I don't know I never even know how much DD has, I just refill her bottle with fresh water at meals and then leave the bottle around during the day where she can drink whenever she wants.
    I just presume she won't let herself get dehydrated if its readily available.
