My ds has mozzie allergies we use Ego MOOV insect repellant spray. You can get it from the chemist, its suitable for children, its made with natural plant oils and it is DEET free provides 3 hour protection too. on mozzie bites we use Ego SOOV cream.

hope that helps, I know how horrible it can be as I'm allergic to sandflies and scratch my legs off if i get bitten
