Dd2 had dreadful nappy rash as a tiny baby. Like red raw bleeding patches of leathery skin we tried everything. Natural, unnatural, cleaning with water and tissues etc etc. stumbled across a combination of creams as, like you, the creams weren't sticking. I did pawpaw first with sudocreme on top. It healed up really quickly with that combination.
