Ds started walking at 11 months. And once he was confident enough (eg, not stacking it all the time) id let him walk through the shops if we were just going in to have lunch or something. Now he walks everywhere. He's 21 months and I can't actually remember the last time he was in his pram.

Actually I let him walk around when I bought him his first pair of shoes, so there you go. 11 month old waltzing through the shops running in his new shoes. He was super cute, and a bit proud. Don't let them get to you
