As much as you enjoy the breaks, I'd threaten to stop the visits. My sister's done the same thing with our Mum, and Mum stopped doing it straight away! Just say, 'Listen, I've asked nicely quite a few times, but if I can't trust you to respect my parenting wishes when you have my son, I won't be leaving him in your care'.
I know, easy to say from my endHope it turns out okay darl

I suppose you could insist that she keeps him until the sugar high wears off.
Actually that was a rule I had - if you stir my kids up, YOU cool them down again. Worked for me![]()
I would be stern as well, your child your rules, though somedays, actually most days I would love for someone to take at least one of my children for a couple of hours.
COKE IN A BABY'S BOTTLE??????? Are you serious????? That's insane.
I was at a friend's going away BBQ last week. Let's just say that the crowd was 'different' to the sort of people I - or anyone I know - tends to hang around.
Two small children (no more than 2 at the oldest, neither could really talk) came in to the living room with bottles full of coke, curled up on the couch and drank their bottles. I was in such utter shock DH had to usher me outside.
At the same party, the kids were lining up to play 'gambling' with the old pokies machine the family had in the garage...
