Less polite. Tell her this is important to you, you hate feeling like you're being undermined or like your wishes as his mother don't matter to her, and that mch as ds loves being with her it can't happen if you can't trust her to follow your wishes.
You're the mummy, you get to say what goes.


But the question is, what do I do? If I've asked very politely for her not to give ds soft drink of any kind, and she insists on doing it, what do I do? I think I'm going to have to stop the outings with SIL if she can't follow the rules, but that feels like cutting off my nose to spite my face- ds loves going out with her for a few hours, and I love the break I get.

I can't believe she would even think it is ok to give a child (especially a one year old!) coke, frozen or not!
