Even if its only for five minutes at a time, you could do things like baths, have your little one propped up in your lap and read a book, play time with a rattle on the floor/playmat etc. Even if my DD snoozed whilst feeding, I'd still work at those five minutes and eventually she stretched her awake time as she became more alert. Your little one is still quite young so still needs alot of sleep but by doing this during the day after every feed then for the late night feed make it entirely different ie lights low, very quiet, straight to bed after the feed, hopefully after a week or so (?) you might find that he'll have his nights and days around the right way. It just sounds like he has them mixed up.
I put DD into a routine as well by only letting her go so long between feeds and then keeping that consistent during the day (ie 3 - 4hourly) unless of course she woke hungry earlier than that and I just adjusted accordingly. But like I said, this is what worked for us but hth a little?
