    Question Temp range for babies

What is an acceptable temperature range for babies? So when does it become a need for panadol?

Most docs recommend panadol at 39 or 40 degrees C. Remember that a fever is the bodies way of fighting something. A fever on its own is not dangerous and does not necessarily need panadol. Of course, if you feel your baby needs panadol, please give it (according to the instructions on the pack). Remember to always take the temp at the same site.

Anything up to 37.2 is normal, but as MG says, I wouldn't give panadol until the temp is a good bit higher than that, unless it's needed for pain or discomfort.

36.5 to 37.5 degrees. If I have time I'll post some more information about panadol, but in essence - panadol is for pain, not fever. If your child ha a fever high enough to need panadol - ie. 40 degrees or above - then they probably need to see a doctor or go to hospital anyway. Otherwise, it is best to save it for when they are grizzly/achy or obviously in pain.

I wouldn't give panadol for a fever which is below 38.5. Like MG said the fever is their little bodies fighting something. Keep up their fluids which will also provide comfort while they are feeding.
