i know its not the point of this thread to chime in... but
my ob said to me at 39 weeks - its a big baby, and it hasn't engaged, if it hasn't engaged within a week i will book you in for a caesarean. I asked what the chances were of me going into labour prior to then and i was told "minimal, maybe 5%". i should have asked him for the tattslotto numbers.
i then of course went into labour within the week and got to 10cm dilation but couldn't quite push her out (given a bit more time i think she would have made it, but apparently there was distress). The ob who did my caesarean (a different one) then told my partner that I would NEVER be able to have a vaginal birth due to the shape of my pelvis. My partner now firmly believes this, and as I attempt my VBAC in under two weeks, I know that my partner believes it will all play out the same as the first time, get to 10cm then caesarean because of my shonky pelvis. I hate going into it with him thinking this, and I have tried to educate him, but the man in the white coat has spoken and he has taken his words as gospel.
