I used time. Just waited. If I'd gone over by a few days then I guess I'd have tried a few things to make sure I was relaxed, but both my boys came a day or two before 40 weeks. I see you're 38+6, you might not even need to be thinking about this, maybe bub will come in a few days on their own.

I know the waiting is hard - can you do some things to stay distracted and relax? Shopping (even online) might keep you busy, plus you can knock some Christmas stuff off your list, massage and acupuncture both relax you and have sent some people into labour. I remember mentally preparing myself for going past 40 weeks by promising myself $10 pocket money for every day gone over. I was actually slightly disappointed to have gone into labour before 40!
