Our plan is to only call my mum or dad or sister when I go into labour and need a ride to the hospital (DH doesn't drive). They've been told to not call anyone when we do go in.

Once bub is born, we will wait until we're settled and had sleep/food/rest/bonding time to send out the sms to everyone, and actually tell them when visiting hours are so they can start coming in at those times. If bub is born in the morning, then the sms will go out in the afternoon. If bub is born in the afternoon, sms will go out in the evening (people can't visit anyway). If bub is born at night, then it'll go out the next morning.

(I'd even toyed with the idea of telling everyone we were due 2 weeks later than the actual EDD so they wouldn't bother me or expect any news yet!)

It's really important to me that we have our time - I can imagine giving birth is a full on experience, let alone meeting your child!
