There is no special list of foods to avoid when bfing. It's best to assume that you can eat everything - most mums can and it's good for babies to get used to a variety of tastes. It makes for a better eater down the track. If you find you have an unsettled baby then looking at your diet is one of the things you can try, but there's no need to cross bridges if and until you come to them.
Have you booked in for a Breastfeeding Education Class yet? This is the very best preparation you can do for a successful breastfeeding relationship. Have a look on the ABA website - www.breastfeeding.asn.au and see if you can find one near you. If not, go to "Contact Us" and put in your postcode to find your local group contact person - they will be able to let you know if there are any that aren't listed on the website - often they are not all there. Mums who attend these sessions find them very much worth it.
