Hi Netty,

I have had 3 c/s, and I think I am a pretty old hand at it now! Not a nice way to get that title though!

You have been given some great advice.......

Can I suggest to you one thing that made me very happy.

They will take the bub away whilst you are being stitched back up, and that can take some time depending on how things run.

I always sent my DH with the babies with video camera in hand - regardless of my prediciment - so that I could feel like I didn't miss anything! Being your first - you will feel a little left out when they take baby and you are left alone - so send your partner with baby! You can also ask for the baby to be brought back to you whilst you are in recovery - depending on the hospital - that was a really nice thing for me when I had #2.

Also make sure that the hospital will allow your partner to stay in hospital for AT LEAST the first night. It's much nicer to have assistance like that than to be buzzing for a nurse all night long.

It's a very exciting time for you........and most importantly - don't listen to anyone who implies or even says that you took the "easy way out"! It happened to me after baby number 1 and it really upset me because people were not even vaguely interested in the reasoning why.

Good luck sweetie!
