Pilates is a really great idea, but I would recommend going for a few classes first if you can. Pilates is really effective IF done properly and it can be really helpful to have an instructor look at your technique. If you do it at home by yourself, be careful as you could hurt yourself
Also if you are going to do it at home make sure you get a beginners DVD which will explain everything for you and won't throw in any advanced exercises that you shouldn't be attempting yet.
I hope I didn't sound discouraging - I don't mean to
Also combining the Pilates with some Cardio would be beneficial and good luck
I've never tried pilates and maybe i need to have a go????? I lost all of my weight after DD 2nd c-section but still had a overhang over the scar, was good on either side. So I had sort of resigned myself to the fact that it would never go????? Not a great feeling, cause I was toned everywhere else.
I suppose we all have our problems, aftereffects of havings babes, I have a friend who looks fantastic, but she hates her baby body because of stretch marks (lots of them and large over tummy, breasts and thighs) and will never again wear a bikini.
Pilates DVD's are great, but if you have never done it before, Id recommend that you have at least one beginner session (class) or get a personal session, just to show you how exactly to do some of the core exercises. When I did pilates many moons ago, it was a great help having an instructor the first few times, after that the DVD's were much easier.
Or do what I do, wear really high tummy flattening underwear, these days my undies extend up to my bbs
