I've technically had 2 emergency c/secs but the second one was much more controlled and planned cos (surprise surprise - not) my body broke my waters and then did nothing.
I have had experience as a theatre nurse so I alread knew the ons and outs but for me it was more about being able to tell the anaesthetist that I did not want to vomit or have hot flushes under any circumstance - and I didn't. I knew how to sit up afterwards and how to manage properly, I knew how to look after my wound and i knew what kind of pain to expect and how my body handled that.
As for the nerves, i had my ceasar booked for the week after it happened, and I actually felt a lot like you do in the weeks leading up to it so . Sadly my godfather passed away in the week before Nate was born so that took my mind off my own issues.
