NEIS isn't paid direct through centrelink - it's the equivalent of newstart (so a bit less than 500 for a single person unless he's claiming he pays rent to his parents) - i would call child support and check with them - no matter what is happening, you should have a MINIMUM assessment of 13 a fortnight - it's not much, but it's money you should be getting to help out
