Kathryn, unfortunately it wasn't said in a way that indicated that she just didn't have time It was her saying that she couldn't be bothered and why would you read to them every day. I do understand that not everyone has time, it is a stretch for me some nights with only 2 children! But on the other hand like I said it takes all of 2 minutes to sit with your child and listen to them read it. I don't do it every single night either, if DD1 is tired then we give it a skip, its not the end of the world
