These are all natural fibres, machine washable, take longer to dry.
raw silk (you must HANDWASH this natural fibre, not an easy care fabric).
microfibre (synthetic fabric, quick drying, do not put it directly against baby's skin).

These are all 100% synthetic, machine washable, dry fast.

what fabrics are the prefolds and flats made of?
they might be

(all absorbent fabrics, that feel wet as soon as baby wees)
to transform your current nappy comb of
- nappy flat and cover
or
- prefold and cover
into a STAY DRY nappy solution,
all you need to do is PLACE MICROFLEECE LINERS on top of the flat, or prefold so that the baby's bottom is in contact with the microfleece, NOT the prefold or flat.
buy microfllece liners already cut up, inexpensive (bubblebubs is one place that sells them)
or buy half a metre of microfleece online, and cut it up into liners, no sewing required, it will not fray in the wash.
Greenbeans is having a sale on microfleece remnants right now, very cheap.
other mcn making supply sites are tiny toosh, nappies covered, bubba earth, wrigglebots, etc.
so WITH the stady dry liner, your baby WILL have a dry bottom when you change them
this is how the layers go
babies bottom
stay dry layer
absorbent material in prefold or flat
waterproof cover
the way the staydry layer works
- the baby wees
- the wee travels THRU the microfleece
- the wee gets TRAPPED and SOAKED UP into the abosrbent fabric like bamboo
- the wee won't go thru the PUL or waterproof outer, UNLESS the absorbent fabric is 100% soaked, baby is left for a long time in nappy, THEN the PUL will start wicking
to change an absorbent inner nappy (feel wet), to a staydry inner, all you do is lie in a microfleece liner. E.g a baby beehinds bamboo OSFA fitted nappy. (outer and inner is all made of absorbent fabric).

Um, so looking for suggestions for DS.. I think I have read BB bamboo fitteds are ok for night? I am still changing him once or twice a night (not that the nappies are full, but I don't like getting them really full)..

MIL loves looking at his fluff.
unfortunately dont have enough suedecloth inners to test a whole day with lol! but I think we're not going to use the GK's anyway cause we are thinking of going with snap closures rather than H&L so its longer before lil miss works out how to undo them lol! are there any other Suedecloth lined nappies to watch out for?
