Purple itti bitti problem?

I have a green one that did the same thing! it was a sceond though, so i havent bothered returning it, still works ok, just have to stretch it out a bit!

I would give them a call, a friend had one that went like that, and she actually came to the local Baby Expo with me and they just replaced it there and then, no questions asked, and said that there was a problem with a batch delaminating.

I haven't had it happen to any of mine, but do keep a listen out incase it does.

I had the same thing happen with my green itti. I sent them an email and they were happy to replace it!

I had it happen to my red and orange ones. I emailed them and they replaced them straight away - I asked for different colours though! I've got heaps of Itti's and these are the only ones I've had trouble with.
I know awhile ago they had a real backlog of emails due to orders from the Baby Expo's, so it might be worth calling them directly. They replaced mine even before I had sent the 'broken' ones back, so I am thinking it might be a common problem. I thought they might of wanted to check mine out first to see if I had done something to them to damage them.

That has happened to a lime green one of mine! It happened all of a sudden - got all crinkly, like the outer layer was sticking to the inner layer or something, so wouldn't smooth. I have a few other itti's, but that is the only one it has happened to.

Well I emailed them with a photo on friday and they got back to me first thing this morning. They are sending out a replacement asap and didn't even say to send the other one back Awesome!

That friend was me - I posted a while back about it too. Peppermint IBs!! I had a couple of others have issues too, and they swapped them over with no hassles either.

The fault is the batch of material where the laminate is coming away, and then it sticks to itself internally. It isn't a manufacturing fault - just their suppliers! I took photos of the nappies, and then sent them those and what I wanted to replace them with. They sent me the replacements and an envelope to send the faulty ones back. All quite easy really. I still love them and considering we pretty much use IB full time, I know it isn't all the nappies, just certain batches.

Hi all , I just bought an Itti Bitti trial pack and so far I'm very impressed
Does this problem with crinkly nappies happen alot? is it just the AIOs? I'm thinking of getting the Snap Ins cos they seem more absorbent and easier to dry. Also, they do seem awfully small. I trialed the small ones for my DD (who's 9 weeks old and about 5kg) but am thinking I should wait a bit and get medium sized ones for her (supposedly for 6kg and up). How long did your medium sized itti Bitti's last?

The crinkly problem doesn't happen that often, as it was a fault with a specific batch, but as you can see above people have been able to get the replaced relatively problem free (except for poor Mel )

DD is still in the mediums with a couple of spare snaps to go and she had just passed 10kg and it 16 months old. We have a few large I was thinking about trying to see how they fit, but going up a size means buying more nappies so hopefully these last a bit longer

Don't be fooled by the sizes. You can't go specifically by weight as it depends on your childs shape. For example - we were in smalls for a very long time, probably until he was about 7 or 8 months before going to medium. I have just put him in to larges this week at nearly 15 months, only because the force of his wee meant it was coming out the top of the nappy. It wasn't actually that they didn't physically fit any more, just being a boy wee gets forced at a quicker rate near the top of the nappy - girls don't tend to have the same issue. Another example is that Jett couldn't wear the snap-ins because the leg elastic couldn't hug his skinny thighs tight enough because the boosters pad the nappy out a bit from the legs, but we have not had any issues with the sewn-ins.

So, personally I would stick with something that fits well now, maybe measure your babies thighs and rise and waist to find the best fit, because although they seem small, they do last a fair bit of time! And the crinkle proplem could easily occur with either snap-ins or sewn-ins.

Oh and as for sewn-ins drying - I find on a sunny day they will dry in a day - so not really an issue. If it is a damp or colder day I put the nappies on an airer in the warm house and then just finish them off in the dryer if they need it.

Like Heaven, I emailed about the problem with my green itti, and they were happy to replace it. I got my replacement with a free cloth wipe and the postage bag to send back the faulty nappy. All good - except now my replacement green itti has started doing the same thing after only two washes! I don't know what to do - should I email again? I don't want to be PITA, but this is the second faulty itti I've had of the same colour!!!
