OMG! She's asleep. And get this... it's in her bassinet! I am seriously in shock because this is unheard of at this time of night. She had her second osteo session this arvo, and presumably (touch wood) we've got the "sleepy" reaction this time, not the inconsolable screaming reaction. I had (earlier today) decided to go back to the GP and talk re dosage on Monday (am there for DS anyway), but now i'm not so sure. I might make appt in case & see how she is on the weekend.
Erybery - thanks so much for sharing your story, tbh I think it is a very cautionary tale for me. I'm so sorry you had to go through all that, it must have been awful. I was interested that you said about 2 weeks to work cos that's what we're on at present!
Black_rose - it's just amazing how different it is, isn't it. And I think many of my friends must think I'm carrying on, but honestly a "non-putter-down" baby is just a world of difference. I've been feeling like every day is just mental, but finally tonight am feeling there is some light at the end of the tunnel. She's actually done slightly better day sleeps this week, and my new theory is get her to sleep by hook or crook, then at least all I'm battling at the end of the day is colic/reflux, and not crazy overtiredness from a baby who has been awake for 10 hours as well!
scarlett - thanks for all the useful info. I was interested to see how much your son is on at 6 weeks, supports my theory that my DD isn't on enough. It's a shame there's no consistent practice with this either. It shouldn't really be about how much the parents jump up & down. I'm quite sure the only reason we got a script for Losec so soon was because I convinced the GP that a) I wasn't an idiot, b) I was a second time parent, c) I KNEW this baby was in pain and d) I'd done everything else I could. The challenge now is working out when she's on the right amount or not.
The book i mentioned earlier is "Colic solved" by Dr Bryan Vartabedian. Described as "The essential guide to infant reflux and the care of your crying, difficult-to-soothe baby!". I thought the title was a bit misleading saying colic when it really is all about reflux!
I'm a bit nervous about summer & the weather getting warmer. Will it get too hot for our sling? We already get pretty hot & sweaty just with warmer weather this week... and I don't know how i'll get her to sleep if I can't wear her. Ah well, guess that'll be another challenge huh, either that or maybe she'll improve so much we won't need to use the sling as much...? aah I can hope!
hope everyone else's day is going well & for those with little one's still, they're all sleeping peacefully!
