Hi Mrs P I have had the HSG x-ray done and it is a little bit uncomfortable but really not that bad. They start like they are doing a pap smear and place a catheter into the cervix and then they put up a little baloon which holds the catheter in place, this for me was the uncomfortable bit. Once that is done they put the liquid through, take the x-ray and you go from there. I didn't have any blockages so I was fine to go straight away but I think if there is something there they do try and remove it by pushing some more of the dye through. Good luck with your journey.
