Amanda I just wanted to say that I am sorry for any disappointment you must feel, that I hope you can come to accept what is, and that the little miracle within you makes up for it all in time.

Bless you & your little man in the making.

    X

Ah- yes. And you have such lovely boys names... I adore Kailen!
You know, my hubby is one of 5 boys and his mother (my MIL) made a comment recently that she never realised when she was having all these boys that she would one day be surrounded by 5 beautiful daughters in law and 4 grand-daughters who love her so dearly! But besides that, you just can never picture how things will turn out, and what beautiful adventures these 6 little souls will take you on!

    Good luck choosing a name.

Hi all! So dh and I would like to ttc a boy for our first child. From what I've read on the various methods it appears it's only a very small window of opportunity considering the egg lasts 24hrs. Is there any proof of increase in regularity of bd that helps for a boy? I don't have a regular cycle so Shettles method is a bit hard. Any suggestions??

Hi everyone I thought I found another gender swaying thread some time ago? Is there another one or is this it? It seems very quiet in here!

litle_o have you thought about charting yoru cycle? You could use fertility friends free acount and then you would have an idea of when O is. I think BD'ing on O day or 1-2 dyas before hand gives you the best chance of a boy.

AFM well we want to try for a girl! I've jsut got my period back after teh birth of DS and I'd say I'll be o'ing in about a week. But before we actually start ttc I woiudl also like to start the 'girl' diet to give us the very best chance of getting our little princess. SO who does the diet, where can I find the diet? I've clicked on a couple of link but they dont' seem to be working. Thanks for any help anyone can offer

OK I've tried the link again in the 1st post and have been able to see the food for gender. Now I have a questoin about testing ph. Do you ue the pool ph test strips to test your CM? It will just tell you if you are acidic or alkaline?

Right, we're TTC now (finally!) so I'm now going over all the timing stuff to TTC a boy. I'm making an effort, but I'm not prepared to hurt my chances of falling pg by limiting myself too much.

So, if we wait until O day (as close as I can possibly tell) to DTD, can we DTD more than once in the same 24-48 hrs following? What's your thoughts?

I'm going to test acidity over the next two weeks as well.

No... just the once is best because if you go again it has a lower sperm cound and will favour X sperm.

Also make sure DH has a 'release' about 4 day before your attempt.

Whilst on a recent google look around I found this - I thought of this thread and thought it may be worth posting it for anyone who wanted to use this service, it is in the US though.

..... uses a technique, which was developed in the early 1980’s. The technique is based on the fact that sperm carrying the Y chromosome move somewhat faster than sperm carrying the X chromosome. A laboratory process is used in which sperm must swim through a sticky protein liquid (albumin), the assumption being that in a given period of time, more Y-bearing than X-bearing sperm will speed through the albumin. By repeating this process, a sperm concentrate is finally obtained which contains a relatively high percentage of Y-bearing or X-bearing sperm (depending on which procedure is selected) than the original sperm sample. The resulting concentrate can then be used by a physician or qualified nurse to perform an intrauterine insemination (IUI).

Clinical data suggests that the sex selection method produced a success rate of 78-85%for male sex selection, and 73-75% for female.

Yeah, he's only getting a few days off! we'll use protection for the week before. And no baths for him! I read on here that a strong coffee a few hours beforehand for him might help the little guys too. Worth a shot!

Very interesting Bengal, I think I read something about that on BB?

Jen good luck ttc your boy!

I still have so many questions about ttc a girl. I think I might have to go and check out the A-Gender forum where it seems that one of our much loved BB gals is a bit of a star over there

Tanya, did you use the egg whites as a douche? We have our own chickens and an abundance of eggs! So that one I could do.

Tested my saliva pH today and it was 6.5 - slightly acidic (as best as I could tell). Is there a difference between testing saliva vs urine (or can use test CM)? I followed the instructions, and compared to when I've done this before I am definitely less acidic.

But it would help to know if I've done this right!

    Jenn

I read you use the egg whites like you would use KY Jelly or something similar

You could come up with a method to get it near the cervix
