Red face My acupuncturist says I have blocked tubes

    Hi,

Has anyone else ever been to an Acupuncturist and been told their fallopian tubes are partially blocked with a 'damp fungal type fluid'? I have been seeing this lady now for a few weeks and she is very good and reputable and she has been doing this for 32yrs now. She has helped many women to conceive and also now see's their children too. I trust what she tells me. She does Kinesiology also aswell as natural medicines.... very highly trained and also a registered nurse.

The first time I visited her she told me she picked up (from doing Kinesiology) that I had my right tube partially blocked by this fungal fluid and through a fungal/yeast-free diet she helped me clear it.... saw her second time around and it had gone! Then two weeks passed and I have just seen her Wednesday and she tells me the fungal fluid is back and is in both tubes now. She said it's still possible to fall pregnant however it can throw the pH balance out in my system hence make it too acidic for sperm to travel down the tubes to do their thing.....
I asked her is there still a chance of falling pregnant this cycle and she said yes there is however it makes it hard....

Has anyone else been through this before?? I asked her is this common? And she said yes there are many women she has had come to see her trying to fall pregnant for months and she finds that their tubes are a little blocked with fluid usually just from foods they eat.....so it's a matter of avoiding certain foods.

If I am not successful this cycle, I think I might go see a Dr also to see what they say although they will probably just send me home and tell me to wait another 5mths before they will look at me I'm only 26 so don't want to wait too long.... I feel so let down by my body. I eat healthy foods and drink plenty of water.... I thought this would be enough? She said overall i am healthy however it's just my tubes don't want to cooperate at the moment...

I stopped charting at the beginning of this cycle and just been BD regularly when we feel like it and it's made me feel so much more relaxed!! I know that i ovulate every cycle and what day too.... but hearing this from the AP the other night just shattered my hopes a bit....

Aaaawww honey, try not to get down too much about it. Try and stay positive. I would advise getting a second opinion from your dr. Like I said to you a few weeks ago, the specialists will more than likely see you. They suggest waiting 12 months before seeing a specialist, but I don't think they'd refuse to see you.

    Hi Ren,

Sounds like a Chinese Medicine diagnoses to me. Chinese Medicine quite often links illness or disfunction in the body to damp conditions in the body. My acupuncturist wants to give me herbs to dry up dampness in my body - but only once bubs is born.

I wouldn't be overly concerned - I doubt that it would be something that your Dr would know or even believe in.

Sounds like an imbalance of normal bacteria to me. Have you also been told to avoid sugars as well as the yeast-free diet? Fungus, like thrush likes to thrive on sugars. I have read about women going to naturopaths because of an inability to concieve and being placed on anti-candida diets and then falling pregnant. Sounds like a similar theory to me.

If you are O'ing every cycle I'd say you are in with a chance. Also feeling more relaxed about things is really positive!!

    Good luck,
    TICKLISH

Aww Ren I agree with Ticklish...I still think you are in with a chance and it sounds like you are doing all the right things.

My blocked tubes were diagnosed when I had my lap for endo and the gynae did the dye studies on both tubes. I'm not sure if there are other ways from the "medical" point of view to determine if your tubes are blocked...

As you know I did fall pregnant naturally and as it happened when on holidays in Europe, DP keeps joking that it was all that yummy European food

I say keep doing what you're doing! Sending lots of your way!

Jodi - thanks matey. Yeah i think i will go to see a Dr but not a specialist just yet unless the Dr advises....
Ticklish - yeah that's what i think, the Dr wouldn't have any idea what i was on about if i told him what the Acupuncturist had said! lol but i could try! and yeah you are right, i think its an imbalance of bacteria too i've always been prone to that happening and thrush infections so perhaps that's why? through my diet i can fix this....yes she said stay away from lots of fruit too much sugar and stay away from sugar in general just have a bit a day. (which is hard!) I was thinking about seeing a naturopath actually to see if she can give me further advice about a good diet seeing as the acupuncturist doesn't generally do diets she is more natural medicine, kinesiology and acupuncture..... yeah i am def more relaxed this cycle and i basically think it's not going to happen so yeah hopefully that attitude helps!!!! I really do think that it's not going to happen anytime soon so at least i won't get upset when AF comes! (well i will still be upset)

Laranna - hey sweet, i know i'm still in with a chance and that's a good thing hey. We have BD every 2nd day approx so i guess we do have a chance and ppl with blocked tubes like yourself still fell pregnant so i have a chance!! Yeah sometimes i wonder how does she pick up that i have partially blocked tubes?!? But through kinesiology she does and i believe in it because she has been doing it so long now and helped many women! Also she picked up that i had a thrush infection the other week and i was like 'no, no way" (had no symptoms) and then the next day woke feeling like i had one and i did!!! so that made me realise she knows her stuff! lol

    * I get frustrated at what to eat because i think that i'm eating healthy foods (like fruit) then find out it's not good for my body!! lol that's frustrating knowing i can't eat certain 'healthy' foods!!

I'm ok, i just have to keep going and keep persisting at this...... it's just one of life's challenges and once i've overcome it and pregnant it will all be worth it
