I have every cook book. Including the two new ones perk of being a consultant lol
I will have to make a note of my fave recipes.

Stoked, the EDC is a bit boring. I also struggled at first, especially with the Varoma. Have you had a Varoma demo? It's worth it just for the puddings at the end
I found that soups and things in the EDC use too much liquid, but I still use it for simple things. In the last couple of days, I've made stewed rhubarb and strawberries, chocolate custard, pasta sauce (an adaptation of an ammatriciana recipe we found somewhere), pikelets, chicken soup, coleslaw and veggie stock.
Have you made the veggie stock? It's brilliant. I use half the salt. It won't last as long but it's less salty so I prefer it. I don't add onions or mushrooms either.
I follow a number of Thermomix FB pages. The recipe community is great too for inspiration. Otherwise, I take other recipes and attempt to adapt them to the TMX. We use it to steam all our veggies now. Which reminds me, I must buy a salmon steak for dinner tomorrow.
TMX cookbooks at have include:
Indian - it's brilliant
gluten free - good. I mostly use it for the pancake recipe though
Healthy eating - ok. I should try more recipes
meat on the menu - don't think I've ever used it
vegetarian - seem to have lost it.
travelling with TmX - useless. Sold it on eBay.
full steam ahead - used it one or twice
my way of cooking - cant remember when I last looked at it
I normally just get recipes of blogs, FB and the recipe community or TMX forum. Also, DH is a fussy eater, so there's a limit to what we can cook when he's home.

I've just been reading through the cookbooks I've barely used. Has anyone made the Swedish meatballs? I just need to make it gluten free. Looks great. I wonder if it's as good as the Ikea version? I just need to get me some lingonberry jam.
Thankyou ladiesI had a great day cooking wise today. I made the chicken and brown rice soup from the quirky cooking blog and OMG... Yum! I also made the 30 second orange cake, I just added poppyseeds, and also YUM!
Last night I made the butter chicken from the Indian cookbook and it was amazing! I really must get myself a copy... Where is the best place to buy the books?
From your consultant. Ebay is often more expensive and when buying from your consultant your usually supporting a wahm
You can buy them from tmx website but you will pay freight

Hi Everyone,
We are having issues with Dairy for DD, looks like she has a intollerance caused by gastro.
Im just wondering if i can use rice milk as a sub in recipes? has anyone done this?
Does anyone have any good dairy free receipes?
I follow quirky cooking but am looking for some basic ideas to get started.
Thanks!
Crumpet, I haven't used dairy substitutes. Quirky cooking does a lot. Or check out if there's recipes on the Recipe Community. A good site is Eat Nourishing. You'll have to convert to TMX though.
Today in the TMX: boiled eggs for brekky. Then for dinner I made up a kind of lamb stew using a lamb steak (we'd cooked some last night and they weren't much good) diced up, with herbs, spices sauted in white wine, then lamb cooked, then 2 cans of tomato with some left over semi-steamed veggies. I cooked that for about 30min, adding the veggies in the last 10 mins. Then I made a sort of biryani rice from the Meat cookbook. Cooked the rice in chicken stock, with garlic, spices and butter. Ate lamb stew and rice. Quite yum despite the mix of flavours.
I then made white chocolate and coconut custard. I might not have added enough white chocolate, but it's still nice.
Apart from the boiled eggs, all of that was sort of made up![]()
Yesterday was chocolate chip cookies (form the Cooking my way but no nuts this time) and apple pie (I adapted a recipe for pastry from this months Delicious magazine for the TM) and served with custard. The boys are demanding more green smoothies so will be doing more of these (also good to keep my Vit.k up with bub due soon!). I use mine every day really.
ETA: you can buy all the cookbooks (well most) from the TM site nowadays.
I've made a few batches of choc chip cookies from the EDC, very good! Made corn, potato and chorizo chowder tonight, white sauce made in thermie then cooked in the slow cooker, was awesome!
Crumpet - yes, you can use rice milk anytime you see cow's milk. Sometimes it's more appropriate to use coconut milk. You use Nuttlex instead of margarine.
The puddings at the end of the varoma demo - yum! Have been making orange and dark choc ones. And just had custard and banana for dessert!
Just got a second bowl and blade set and a second thermoserver... soooo handy! Have also been making solids for DS2 (just starting).
My blog has a few dairy free bits on it.

There is a dairy free tab on the side

Just made marshmallows - fantastic! Mmmmm yum. (Next week, I swear I am going back to my "quit sugar" program). Next time I might tweak to slightly less gelatine.
Here is the recipe from the recipe community:
Ingredients
180 grams sugar
250 grams hot water
1 tbsp gelatine
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup dessicated coconut (to coat)
Preparation
1. Line slice tin (18 x 28cm) with baking paper.
2.Place sugar into mixing bowl and pulverise 8 sec/speed 9.
3.Add gelatine and hot water and cook 7 min/100C/speed 2 (or until sugar is dissolved).
4.Remove lid and place mixing bowl on bench to cool to room temperature (or until a thick syrupy consistancy is reached).
5.Replace mixing bowl and insert Butterfly. Place basket on top of lid and whip syrup 3 mins/speed 4 (until mixture starts to thicken).
6.Remove basket and whip a further 3 min/speed 4 or until mixture is thick (similar to a meringue mix).
7.Add vanilla and mix 15 sec/speed 4.
8.Pour into tin and refridgerate for approx 15 mins until set.
9.Use a wet knife to slice into squares. Put coconut in a bag and toss each square in coconut until well covered.
Popping my head to say hi.
Just got my Thermomix today & i'm already in love![]()
