I agree! I think we have all yoyo'd (sp?) before with our weight by going too extreme and then bouncing back. I know that is a big problem of mine. So if we relax and enjoy the ride a bit hopefully we will all look forward to long lasting improvement in health and waistlines!!

Calorie king says I can have 2000 calories a day... does that seem a lot?

Kellie, are you bfing? If you are, it sounds fine. I am allowed 1800 (i'm 156cm tall and bfing). You are probably taller than me.

Nikki... I do a routine... muscle stretches to warm up, then the aerobic ones (boxing, step, jogging... HATE hula hoops though LOL), then balance, then yoga. So I warm up, do some heart pumping stuff, then start cooling down with balance and yoga. Minimises the day-after pain LOL!

Its so great to have people motivating and supporting is all...

Yesterday i went for a 30-40 min quick walk with DD in the pram Didnt have a watch but DP said that was how long i was gone for... I'm saying 30 mins so i can improve tonight. it was a bit cold for her as there was a big wind... perfect for me but she wouldnt stop sooking... In the end i came back home to drop her off and intended on continuing but everyone was hungry for dinner so i started cooking. I've woken up this morning with a killer sore throat but the 300ml of hot water with the juice of 1/2 a lemon really helped (an upside to drinking it)
have been doing things like baby and me excercises... DD is about 7-8 kg and lifting her up and down is helping with arms... I need to loose the belly mainly and a downside to weightloss for me is a decrease in bust size... I HATE that... I need most weightloss from belly, hips and thighs.... oh and ar$e... Need to start doing some sit-ups and things to get the weightloss from my lower half... i have kept 2 cordial jugs that i will fill with some water to start with then sand for extra weight... (dont want to buy weights just yet) I had a treadmill but we sold it when we moved as we didnt have enough room here (it was massive) I have the Wii fit and LOVE doing the hola hoops, steps and boxing... i got DP to buy me some wood to prop it up a bit more so i'm steping up a bit more...

i dont do a body test daily even with scales they say you shouldnt weigh yourself daily... they recommend weighing fortnightly. I'm doing weekly for the challange and thats it... I beought a set of body fat and water scales and they said i weigh less then the wii fit does so will stick to the fit for the challange... Anyone know if there is a new Fit game??? I need some new things i have unlocked everything... the jogging is ok, not sure if running on the spot would do much though??
Well best be off, time to Wii Fit it. Oh can we start a thread of diet recipies to share??? I have a few but in need of some inspiration.

Leasha - yep, I am, and I'm 170cm tall, so I guess that explains it then.

You are all making me very jealous with the wii fit talk! I wonder if I can hire one from somewhere.....

Jess, I have found I can run through my kitchen and into the hallway with the remote so I jog a little circuit instead of on the spot (i'm like you, i didn't think it'd do anything).

Jess - i heard that Jillian Michaels (Biggest loser trainer) has/is bringing out a game to use on the fit board.... should be good ... actually i just searched for it and its called Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2009.... i would love to check this game out ... its boot camp style... hehe
    Anyone played this????

For the people who use CalorieKing... do you eat all your points??? I know they say u need to do this but im finding it hard and my mind thinks that if i eat less i will lose more but this isnt the case is it??? I really have no idea :|

I plan to use all my points and but I have never actually eaten all of them... I often just don't need the fruit or yoghurt or another part of something that is with the meal. I am on 1500 points.

But having said that I always eat the more 'substantial' part of the meal and if I do miss something it is the smaller thing like I said. I lost weight quite successfully doing it this way (well successfully enough with me anyway)

    Hi everyone

HP congrats on the BFP, thats great news!

Hmmm, I'm starting to wish I had a Wii fit now too!

Well it is day 3 without chocolate today. Chocolate is my BIG problem. I am seriously addicted and if it is in the house I have to eat it! I'm not into take away food or chippies or softdrinks or alcohol. Chocolate is my vice and I could easily consume a family block of cadbury macadamia in a day. The first day of the challenge I was absolutely caving the chocolate like crazy but thankfully today it's not too bad.

I haven't exactly been sticking to my 1500 calories per day but I have been making sure I'm having less than 30 gms of fat per day so having a low fat diet and banning chocolate are my first two challenges. I will see how I go and if I'm not budging much weight I'll start to re-assess my calorie intake.

Anyone elso out there seriously addicted to chocolate?

We just got a wii and I am now seriously considering a wii fit... though I am locked into my gym membership for another 9 or so months so that sucks... hang on - more positive way to look at this: I could be getting the best of a gym workout and have something to do on days when I need to rest from gym!

Forgot to say COngrats HP... Thats awesome... i'd love #3 but desperatly need to drop this weight 1st... So my goal lose as much as i can before TTC end of the yr early next yr... (fingers crossed DP is ok with that... haha)

Forgot to mention i mowed and wipered the front and back lawn DP was going to do it but i did as i thought it was better then sitting down... Wonder if that burns calories... It took it out of me a little mostly my arms from holding the wiper and the vibrations from it...

I started a thread for recipes cos i get a bit slack with ideas so hoping for some goos low fat, low carb, low GI recipes... Anything really... I have recipe books but i prefer to see what others cook and like. Some of the low fat is more like No taste...

Leasha... I have done the same thing with the jogging up and down from the hall to the kitchen and back... i like the step one but wish the one you can change the time was more like the rythem ones... Or wish they went longer... I put a board under today to make it higher and my legs are sore so thats good... This sore throat and headache is aweful so i was in bed with DP but lasted 10 mins and DD woke up... Now i have a recharged baby and my head is pounding.... I have had like 4 cups of tea... weak with skim milk and splenda so i hope tht isnt too bad... i always get these headaches when i cut the coke out... Like i'm some junkie... LOL... I love my coke...

Is anyone doing the shakes or pills??? I was looking at the tony ferguson shakes and vitamins??? its like $260 for 4 weeks supply... I just cant afford that at the moment with the mortgage... But was wondering if they worked...

Nikki- will google that game and see if i can buy it... sounds great... i need variety

Sounds like everyone is still going strong with the motivation- it is nice to come in here and feed off other peoples enthusiasm, helps to keep me focused.

I have my first big challenge to come this weekend, DH and I are going out to Gold class at the movies tonight, and tomorrow it is my birthday, and while I intend to enjoy myself, I am hoping I can still stay in control. We are having friends around for breakfast and instead of doing the full bacon and eggs thing we are having scrambled and smoked salmon and fresh fruit. Then we are going to mum and dad's house for dinner, and I have told them I dont want a cake this year- felt very proud of myself for saying that.

I think I want a Wii fit to now, I have just told DH we need to aim to have one by the time winter rolls around, because at the moment I am quite enjoying getting out and walking in the mornings- it is quite nice and fresh out at 6 am, however I can't see me wanting to drag my arse around the streets at that time in the middle of winter.

Hp's mum, congrats on your BFP, what a lovely way to start the new year. I was very careful with no. 2 after putting on nearly 25 kgs with no 1. I actually saw the hospital dietician through my second pregnancy which helped alot, I think I only put on a total of 9kgs and was a couple of kgs lighter after birth than I was before.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

    Hi everyone,

spice- count me in on the chocolate addiction! I am utterly such a pig when chocolate is around but I've been really proud of myself since the challenge has started. Theres been half a twirl and a picnic in the door of the fridge and I have kept my hands off it...well I did pick up the twirl, looked at the fat table and put it back. Selena isn't a sweet tooth so when our nephew and niece come over will get them to down it so it doesn't go on my hips. Hope I dont cave!

HPs Mum - thats fantastic news, Congrats on your its a great start to the year and an incentive to eat healthy!

I haven't used calorie king before, I've signed up with myfitnesspal and they've calculated I can have 1200calories a day. I thought that was a bit strict but when you start making healthy food choices its not that bad at all. I've made a good start, had my warm water with lemon juice, cereal and heaps more water, I'll have a late lunch of a ham and salad wrap again, its really satisfying for me and I think I will ride my bike this afternoon and maybe a wii session. I dont have a wii fit yet so I just do the boxing and tennis on the regular sports game, it gets my blood pumping. Looking forward to getting a wii fit sometime soon. Because I work shift work I've decided to do something outdoorsy when I'm home in the afternoons but when I'm working an evening shift I can have a wii session in the morning or late at night. that way I can get fresh air exercise whenever I can and wii in between. Selena is supportive, she cooks most of the time and has modified her cooking. She wants to lose a few kilos too so it works well for us both. I hope everybody is doing really well and if you've fallen off the wagon just jump back on or chase it down the street until you catch it as I have had to do so many times before lol. Bye for now

spice... I am a chocolate addict. Seriously. I could eat a block of that mixed berry dark chocolate. OMG... *droll* or Bertie Beetles... I currently have a fridge drawer full of chocolate... Ferraro Rocheres, Crunchies, Freddos, Bertie Beetles, Turkish Delight... But I am strong! I let myself have two Bertie Beetles a day, otherwise I'd crumble and eat one of everything, and then some LOL!

That new fitness game sounds cool, will have to keep an eye out (like I don't have enough ).

No shakes or pills here, for me its more feasible to just eat real food and makes those changes, or else when I stopped the pills/shakes etc I'd just go back to unhealthy eating habits!

Congrats on your BFP hp's mum!!

spice - OMG chocolate is my weakness, but I have managed to be good and not have any this year so far

Calorie King has given me 1700 calories a day and so far I'm managed to be just under in the calories but go way over on the fat so have to look at doing something about that. We had Taco's (from the old el paso kits) for dinner last night and I didn't think they would be as bad as getting takeaway but when I entered it into Calorie King, I nearly fell off my fitball!!! I had 3 taco's which apparently has 51.5grams of fat!!!!

Tomorrow is going to be a challenge as it's my sisters birthday and I'm making the cake and a lemon meringue pie. Hopefully, everyone else eats it before I get a chance to

OMG, Laranna, my family love those tacos. I might have to make myself something different next time they want them.

Spice, yep I'm a massive chocolate addict. I still allow myself a very small bit and I will slowly cut it down. I really will go crazy without it.

I'm not cutting calories ATM because I'm still bf, but I'm doing my best to make the healthiest choices. I think by cutting out the fast food and icecream it'll make a big difference, I'm already feeling less bloated.

I really want a Wii Fit!!! It sounds like so much fun. I wonder if I can hold out to my birthday in April!!
