Thanks ladybird - what a great post!

Finally some good weather! I took my new wheels out for a spin - the kidlets and I walked up to the supermarket. Most of it is uphill, so that was a pretty good workout! It was so nice getting outside. I really do miss walking, so I'm glad the next week is looking like fine weather ,

Weigh in day for me tomorrow.

    Ble - You go girl!

I have had a good day today - hardly any carbs yay but had a DC and about to have another with vodka in it I need it today! Went for a 1 hour walk earlier as well! Go me - weekend is here so I will go for a run tomorrow as well!

Tan - oooh boy I could do with a vodka too lol, except I think it would put me to sleep in 10 seconds flat hahah. Good on you for being good today, I saw your walk on FB, impressive! I meant to say earlier (blame busy week) that I think protein at your breakfast (and HAVING breakfast) could make a big difference to you, plus increasing the veg & protein. If you want sushi, get some more of the sashimi if you like it, increases your protein & reduces the rice a bit. Re the muscle seperation yes I still do have some, and thank you, you just reminded me I haven't done my exercises yet. I'm wondering if I need to go do something more too. I got some exercises from my physio earlier in the year (she was quite specific that I should be avoiding some of the traditional ab strengtheners), but I haven't done them nearly enuff ... I do also have an umbilical hernia and I think there's something going on near my diaphragm too, it sticks out a bit funny, and there's a bit I can squish back when it's bulging. Sounds icky but doesn't hurt at all, but does give my tummy a slightly odd shape towards the end of the day meh. Babes on Board is in Ringwood & has a good post-baby physio run program to deal with such issues... I'm debating whether I try that or not.

LB - great post loved it fanks muchly!!! Meant to reply to you earlier re the blog, and I saw some activity on FB, does that mean you're back? *looks excited* I hope so. I meant to look at your blog but time just gets away... I agree it's tough when it's on another site . Somewhat selfishly I just like it when you come in here .

Sterla - I'm sending good vibes for a great weigh-in tomoz! And woo hoo for the new wheels, you must be loving it.

Livvy - you are doing awesomely! And those jeans sound great! Are they dry yet????

SB - I'm so opposite to you, I weigh most days so it stops me freaking out about the fluctuations lol. Re the boobs, you can have some of mine I have more than I want. You're going so well.

Mildez - way to go, that's fantastic reaching your Oct goal so soon, you must be so chuffed!

3LM - how are you going? Hope you're having a lovely time away.

SJ - how are you feeling now? Pesky rotten colds around at the moment, it's so frustrating isn't it!

AFM, have finally mostly kicked my cold, just getting residual sinus headaches meh... but have managed my hour (minimum) of exercise every day this week, yay. So I'm hoping for a good weigh-in tomorrow. So saying, I must have eaten something that didn't like me (I have wide-ranging dietary malabsorption issues which means I can upset my system pretty easily), cos tonight I was mega bloated (my waistline was up TEN centimetres, looked 6mth preggers I kid you not) soooo annoying & so uncomfortable. It's always my first symptom, so I've been chugging some probiotics and hoping my system will settle down before weigh-in tomorrow... cos my weight will usually be up as well when I'm like this. Fingers crossed. I did the most sloggy miserable feeble hour on the bike... really not in the zone at all, but hey, I did it. The stupid thing is that the skinnier I am, the more I hate my bloating tendency because it looks more & more obvious. But I'm reminding myself that I could be 11kg heavier and then I wouldn't notice the bloat as much cos i wasn't looking good ever anyway! At least my giant tum will go in a day or so rather than after months of hard work!

Crossing fingers for bub to have a huge morning feed, mumma to drop a #2 and then my weigh-in will be great! hahahahaha

Belfie: Good on you for exercising when you didn't feel like it! Even if it was slower than usual, it's better than sitting on the couch . Hope you get a great result with your weigh in!

Tanstar: Hope you get lots of opportunities for exercise this weekend!

AFM: Weigh in... and *drumroll please* I have lost 1.2kg and 2cm from my waist! Pretty happy with that . I have a few difficult days coming up foodwise, as it's my MILs 50th birthday and she is staying with us. We're going out for tea tonight, then there's cake, then waffles for breakfast Sunday morning. I'll just be sure not to overindulge, and I'll make sure to get out for a few walks.

Woohoo sterla, that's fantastic! Good luck with your tricky days coming up, great you have a plan.

AFM, I'm happy as . Dropped another 0.6kg. Puts me on total 12kg lost and....

ONE KILO TO GO! Lordy I'm excited. My bmi is now 22.83. Also dropped 1cm off boobs (yay) & waist. Waistline is down to 82cm. Question is whether I'll get to 80cm with another kilo gone!

Loving those weigh in's sterla and belfie!!!!

    Awesome work girls.....I'm very proud!

Would anyone be interested in having a progress chart (similar to what we use in belly threads? Example:

    * insert date *
Leesa - 57.1 kgs - 1 kilo to go (or)
    Leesa - 10 cms lost - 2 to go

Would that be too competitive / confronting / challenging? Or would it be useful to help stick to the program?

    hi hi!

yup belfie, jeans are dry as of yesterday morning so wore them all yesterday and am wearing again today (would have swapped into my ck 13s but am fundamentally against risking all my clothes getting messy at once lol) and am planning/hoping to wear them tomorrow as have PIN and haven't seen all the mums there since was back at 81/80kg i think!

wow sterla and belfie! fab weigh ins! tan, you go ahead and have that vodka hun! am totally for a little relaxant every now and again provided it's not an every night thing - empty calories... but have a swig of wine when i feel i need it!

AFM - am self patting myself on the back, although am not sure i will continue to deserve it as we're off out to brunch today (am hoping i can be restrained and still choose something i enjoy) to celebrate my birthday was earlier in the week but we've all been super busy lol. BUT am super dooper proud as i hopped on the scales this morning

    aaaaaaand

72kg! woohoo! BMI in the normal category! yeyah!! and believe you me, i don't use more than one exclamation mark lightly lol!

    Hi Ladies,

    Can I join in please?

I put on a lot of weight after my last pregnancy. Then I started smoking and quit again and put on a further 9kgs or so. Now I'm...99 kgs. I'm feeling absolutely horrible about it.

My doctor has said that my blood pressure is through the roof and my cholesterol isn't looking too good either, so I really need to do this.

Welcome hannanat.... I think pregnancy has been the cause of most of us gaining these darn extra kilo's!!! Everyone in this thread is really understanding and supportive!! We can be a chatty bunch too!! I wish you all the best for losing the extra bits of you!! :-)

Ginger!! Well done on the loss!!! I agree that even a little bit is noticeable!! As I found even though I have only lost 4kg so far, in cms i am doing great and pants feel different on me and I feeli different!! I am still not where I was last christmas when I was originally trying to lose wieght, so I know I still have a bit to go, but feeling different already is helping!!!

    Hi to everyone!!!

AFm I have become addicted to weighing again lol!! 81.1 this morning!!! I havent had much time for excercising today unfortunately, I did my stretches and as soon as I hoppe don the bike today DD woke up a bit sad. Then I had to get stuck into the house work!! (I also carried wood over to the house!! )But the house is nice and clean today.. so tomorrow I should get there!! I have put lunges into my daily stretching on the wii fit.. so i am doing 10 each side a day!! I am feeling it I tell ya!!!!

Gotta go- I am going to try and get on the bike tonight when the kids finaly go to sleep!!!!!

    Bye for now!!

Welcome hannanat, how is your week going so far?

It's been quiet in here this week. Well I'm doing my usual cycle thang, wanna put 45 mins in the bank. so that's me now, just warming up.

Leesa - I like the idea of a chart.

    Hope to bbl post cycle

Wow, it really has been quiet in here.

Belfie: How exciting that you only have one kilo to go! That is awesome! Hope you had a good go on the bike last night .

Livvy: Hope you had a great birthday!

SB: Thanks for the giggle about your pre and post-poo weigh ins! That's why I always try and weigh in after a toilet trip!

    Ginger: Awesome loss! Well done!

Hannanat: Welcome . That was my starting weight too - not a nice place to be . But the lifestyle changes I've made have really made a difference and I'm now closer to 80's now. Good luck!

AFM: I had a slightly indulgent weekend. Went out for tea Saturday night for MIL's birthday. I had a vegetarian dish, so not too bad I don't think. We did have cheesecake for dessert, but just a small serving. Sunday morning we had waffles for breakfast, but once again I didn't over-indulge and had lots of fruit for toppings. Sunday night we did have some gourmet burgers... I just needed to eat some meat I think! It was such a yummy burger, but I'm thinking the mayo on it probably wasn't in line with eating well, lol. But I've been back to my healthy eating and exercising this week - went for a big walk yesterday, and had some very healthy chickpea and lentil burgers for tea. I won't get time for a walk today, so I'll be getting on the bike tonight.

Anyway, I better go as DD needs a sleep. Keep up the great work everyone!

    Welcome hannanat.

So sorry I have been MIA. I have been obsessed with this Michelle Bridges program and ever since I join that 1.5weeks ago I've been living in those forums talking about diet and exercise. I love it. I've found the right diet for me finally. I was always a WW follower but since reading more about whats good for you WW seems so full of artificial sweetener and I wasn't getting my nutritional needs on it. So I am currently the lowest I have been since falling pregnant although I still have a few kilos to go before I am at my pre preg weight.

Ladybird I'd be happy to put my stats up but then I am really proud of how far I have come and if I was struggling I don't think I'd want to share. Since trying to loose weight when bub was 1month old I've lost 12.1kilos but well over 20 from my final pregnant weight but 4kilos was baby. Approx half of that time has been hard core and the other half I've been off the wagon. My goal was to loose another 9.6kilos bringing my weight to 65kilos but now I wonder if that is to thin. I'm 177-178cm and that weight would bring my BMI down to 20.7 apparently. Maybe I should think about 69ish kilos and work on my fitness and building some muscle.

SB I'm considering weighing more frequently also. Once a week isn't working the best for me as I figure I can be naughty for the first 3days without worryng and I end up going really hard with the effort for the remaining 4days.

Sterla way to go on the loose so far. Thats awesome news about jumping straight back on the wagon after the weekend.

Mildez: That's great that you've found something that works for you. And well done - 12kg+ lost is such a fantastic achievement!

AFM: Had the crappiest of crap mornings. In the past this would have resulted in me stuffing myself with junk food. Something in my mind must have changed though, cause now all I can think about is how yucky I'd feel if I did eat junk food. Instead I enjoyed a quiet cup of tea while the kids slept. I've come this far with my weight loss, I don't want to start going backwards.

Mildez - i must say I reckon 20.7 BMI is pretty low... but then I have a build where I just look too skinny at that low a BMI. I've been 19.63 (through ill-health) and I didn't look good. I guess it also depends on your build. What would your BMI be at 69? I'm another one who has to weigh more often, it keeps me motivated and helps me know how I'm tracking. I think if I just weighed once a week, I'd just go off the rails lol. And great to hear you're loving the michelle bridges program!

Sterla - ooooh well done! I know that feeling, isn't it great when you realise you're conquering that emotional eating?

AFM, well I had a mini weigh-in today (one of my sneaky ones) and I'm 0.2kg down...so only 0.8kg to go (and but I'm in the 56's... wooo hoo!!!). Tbh I'm a bit nervous that I'll lose the 1kg, and my waist STILL won't be under 80cm (it's 82cm atm) and I won't be that happy with my weight... but we'll see I guess. I think I'm always going to have a thicker waist and for me to lose it entirely I'd have to get too skinny. Incidentally, Mildez, my BMI will be 22.43 at my goal weight. I have to say that i'm enjoying being a "slim" person , have had quite a few compliments recently which is nice. I'm working my butt off this week to shift the last kg... 90 mins exercise every day the last few days. And I'm counting down cos I wanna lose it by Sat 2nd of Sep (when our birthday month begins - all 4 of us from the 4th Sep through till 5th Oct - have to make sure I don't put on weight!!).

Hope everyone else is going well

Oh and I have a question (maybe Leesa?) I know there was talk earlier about whether folks "eat back" the extra calories burned when exercising, and I'd always wondered about that cos i thought if you didnt eat the recommended calories, you'd put your body at risk of putting your body into starvation mode... but I'm guessing not "eating back" would mean that your intake was still adequate.... hence no starvation mode. Is that right? I'm not tracking at the moment but I suspect that's what i'm doing unofficially IYKWIM given I'm eating quite well & exercising a lot.

Belfie - there are a few thoughts here...
I only ate back the calories if I felt hungry, which I could probably count one the amount of times on one hand. I can't justify eating if I'm not hungry .
Some people who choose not to eat back those calories burnt during exercise and who feel hungry later on, yet decide not to eat with the thought they will lose more weight, run big risk of entering starvation mode = body holds more in response.

Have I kinda answered your question?
