I just did an hour (in two stretches around DS being awake) on the Wii Fit "cycling" the Island View course. It timed out on me and I still had three flags to go!!!
but OMG my aching butt
....and I'm kind of keen to get back on and find those last flags
Ali - Thanks hun. 900g is not bad at all over the silly season, especially if you got off track a bit. It'll come off in no time at all.
Nai - Yeah I work in a very male dominated industry and it's not that I want to look hot for my colleages or clients but women at my work do get looked at in that way itms and I don't want to be a subject of gossip re: how much weight I'm still carrying after the baby. Of course I don't mind if they're gossiping in a good way about how great I look
Leesa - I actually do have some size 10 pants that I'm aiming for. I'm guessing it will take 15kg cause that was my weight when I was wearing them but that was pre-DS too.
Woohoo Belfie. Way to go. That is an awsome loss!! And well done to your DH too! Keep it up hun you are doing great!
Kaz- Well done on already dropping weight can't wait to hear how you go with your offical weigh in on Sunday! Lol at your aching butt, you won't be able to sit down tomorrow but it will be worth it.
Alibaby- 900g increase is not too bad considering the time of year. You will be able to get rid of that hun Thats great that you got their cookbook, you will have to let me know if it is any good. I am doing ww online and was thinking about buying it.
Leesa- Well done hun on getting down to 68.9. I think getting a smaller size pair of jeans for winter is a great motivator.
Nai, how is everything going for you?
AFM - Been grocery shopping again today so have stocked the house up with plenty of healthy food. Also on a side note I have realised how strong my motivation must be this week. My DH opened a pack of corn chips we had left over from the silly season and he ate some and then put the rest in a jar. They have been in the panty now for a few days and I haven't even had one!! And I love corn chips lol. Feeling very proud lol
just a quick note, hav't been in here for a while. i gained 1.3 kg over christmas and my birthday, but back on track now. i have a goal to lose 10 kg this year and or fit into size 12 old clothes. and be able to breathe.
I weighed in this morning and am still the same. Not sure why! I shouldn't be lol. Actually, I did jump on the scales yesterday and was up 500g but today I was down again.
I have been watching my diet but unable to do much exercise as the kids are only back at childcare yesterday and the creche at the gym is shut until Feb - but I am going to try and get there today and then weigh in on Monday as normal. Monday is going to be my weigh in day as I will be able to get to the gym and use the scales - I have been using those ones all along and they are more reliable than my home ones (which seem to randomly generate a number 1 or 2 kg either side of what you actually are ).
ktgirl - whoohoo!! you must be so pleased that's a fantastic loss! And well done on saying no to corn chips. I said no to a heaven ice cream last night and felt great about it.
JBM - Hi!
T4M - Don't give up! I was the same weight last week too but think I've lost since then. Sometimes I think it takes a while for the body to catch on! It could just have been a bit of extra fluid!
Nai - GL for Monday's weigh.
AFM - Got to go, DS just woke and we're late for Mum's group. I am determined not to do my usual and eat loads of junk while I'm there!
I was 73kg when I started this, and got down to 67kg. I was 69kg when Sam was born, so I was feeling good, although I would like to see 65kg again.
With about 12 family packs of M&Ms consumed be me alone during December (yikes!) and all the parties and crap food and being away and not exercising, I was absolutely petrified of getting back on the scales. But I did this morning. 68kg.
Very pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately, it means motivation is still low and I need a giant kick up the butt, but at least I know I haven't done too much damage.
I made it to the gym today and thought I would jump on the scales while I was there and got a nice surprise too - I am down 1.1kg so only 0.7 up on pre-Xmas. I am pretty happy about that
BW - Thats good you haven't done too much damage over xmas. How are you feeling?
Kaz- Well done to saying no to the heaven ice cream now thats commitment! When are you weighing in darl?
T4M - Bugger on the scales being out silly things. But don't let them get you down.
Hi everyone else. Hope you are having a good weekend so far.
AFM I need to really stay on top of things this weekend. The weekends is the time where I usually let myself down with no exercise and eating crap all weekend . I am determined not to do that this weekend. I got up early this morning and did a pilates DVD (a bum and thigh one) so I probably won't be able to walk tomorrow lol But at least it is done now for today! I am just about to make some fruit salad to have with yoghurt for brekkie to kick the weekend off to a healthy start!
just joining this thread as i want to lose about 20kg. i was overweight when i fell PG with DS & am now a few kgs lighter than that but there is much, much more that needs to go!
DP are starting an 8 week challenge to be as healthy as possible today.
how does anyone with a baby find the motivation to exercise? DS is going through an anti-pram phase so walks are out. i've jumped on the exercise bike a few times but i find it hard to get the motivation when i'm getting up to DS 3-5 times a night & just feel tired from the moment i get up. even though i know that i'll feel better & have more energy after i exercise
Hi guys!
Everyone sounds like they are seeing some nice losses.
T4M - Eek I hate it how all scales are different. I weighed in at the blood donor centre (with boots on though) and it was heavier than the scales I use. But decided to ignore it - he he!
Well I am going ok. Have had a bit of bad food today and also have to make a confession that I only just weighed this morning since 2 weeks before xmas. I was 64.9 then and knew I had put on some over the weeks. Was prepared for 67-68kg but was only 65.9kg this morning. So I am super happy!
Also soccer started last night so did about an hour of indoor soccer - lots of stop and start sprinting. But didn't really get out of breath at all so very happy! Futsal starts Monday so I know that for a while I have two nights I don't need to motivated myself to exercise. Just got to fill in the in-between days.
My goal for this week is to lose 0.5kg by weigh-in next Saturday.
omg it's so hot here... I don't want to do anything! Well I weighed the same yesterday (after two "naughty" days - not tracking on CK). But then tracked again yesterday and weighed in .3kg lighter this morning woo hoo.
sloane - welcome to the thread. Re exercising with babies, it's a tricky one. I try to do Wii Fit or exercise bike during his naps when I can, or walks (but you said your DS doesn't like prams). And i've often thought that I could do weight stuff in the room with him... you know, turn your lounge into an incidental exercise area, lift cans of soup, tricep dips off the sofa, plank on the floor, pushups etc.. but I've never actually done it.
ktgirl - hope your weekend of determination is going well!
krysalyss - wow you've got plenty going on, I'm sure you'll hit your goal.
Nai - I've never tried the gym/creche thing, maybe should. GL with all the birthday parties, you can do it
butterfly_warrior - *GIANT KICK UP THE BUTT!!!* you can do it girl, come on, get off your butt!
~Kaz~ - hope MG went well - social situations are the toughest I reckon!
I got a haircut yesterday, and some new earrings then found the BEST clothes store! Bought a heap of stuff that is awesome now but will also look good if/when PG... so I figure that's kinda like my reward for the first week & a bit hahah... can't afford to keep rewarding myself like that tho lol. But... had to get it all while it was half price sale!
BW - I'm glad you were pleasantly surprised by your weight!! I second Belfie's Giant Kick Up The Butt!!! Just make a couple of small changes, or even one. I bet even the little stuff will make a difference that will add up. I was reading the other day that diet is 80% of the battle of weight-loss (and this was information coming from my old gym) so don't worry too much that you can't exercise.
Nai - WHoot on the weight loss!! Thanks for the tip on the icecream, I'll check them out! I ate the last of our low fat vanilla last night How did your parties go?
ktgirl - whoo on the pilates! That's what I call motivated! How has your weekend been?
Slaone - Hi darl! I am in the same boat re: night wake ups. DS is not a great sleeper and on a normal night I can be up to him 2-3 times a night feeding and settling on a horror night, (like last night), he had about 10 wake ups in around 12 hours He is teething so I have to cut him some slack but I'm beyond exhausted atm cause it's been going on for about a week now. Personally, I used to use the tiredness as an excuse to do very little about my weight for months, I kept telling myself I'd get into it when he slept better but then I realised that he might not sleep better for a while yet and I was giving him (or the situation) control over my weight. I force myself (and I'm only doing Wii when he sleeps) cause I know I'll feel better for it and I figure it's something I can do for me every day.
Krysalyss - Yay on only gaining 1kg!! You can definitely lose 0.5 by Saturday. Enjoy Soccor and Futsal. What is Futsal? I'm going to check your thread now....
Belfie - whoo on 0.3kg lighter! And for your pamper day! I love buying new clothes.
Ali - How're you doing hun?
AFM - Even though I was a bit naughty and had a couple glasses of wine, ate a few large meals and only got on the Wii every second day for the last week, I've lost 1.5 kg!!! Feels like I'm finally on my way again. Thanks for all the support so far girls! I'm off to change my ticker
Hi guys! Went for a bike ride today which was quite nice.
Yesterday I blew out the calories on some noodles that I didn't count before I ate so then had to do aerobics to make it under my allowance. The noodles were good though - but next time I will portion control!
DH made spinach quiche - I am suspicious of it so will have to count the calories before indulging too much. It smells so good though!
Belfie - Woo hoo on the loss. And that is a giant kick up the a$$ that you gave. Maybe you should run a boot camp (pun intended - he he!)
Kaz - 1.5kg is an awesome loss! Woo hoo!! Keep up the amazing work!
Kaz, have to second the skinny cow ice creams - they are absolutely divine! Best thing about them is that not only are the low fat, but they are also low carb so have very little sugar in them. I don't think they even have artificial sweeteners in them either.
I'm becoming a bit more restrained with my diet, but just don't have it in me to start any sort of exercise just yet. I'm finding the heat to be a real killer and last time I threw Sam in the pram and went for a walk I was off my foot for many weeks... Trying to get myself out and about in shopping centres a bit more regularly. Serves two purposes - gets me some new clothes for going back to work and lets me get a bit of exercise in. So far I've just got some cheaper stuff from target as I'd like to get back into my older clothes - pleased to note that I'm now a size 12 on the bottom once again! Needed to get a size 16 in tops - but that's more to accomodate the width of my shoulders and back, so it's a quirk of my shape not so much a needing to slim down more issue.
