Bahhh... 78.3kg. I think that's the same as last Monday. Still, I am pleased not to have gained this week! It turned out to be a very social week, lots of eating and very little exercising. I am not going to give myself a hard time until after the big kids are back at school the week after next. Then, I WILL go to the gym!!! It would be nice to kick start the weight loss before then though...
Congratulations to those who have had losses and welcome to the girls who have joined us!
Bah! I pigged out bad this evening I had a stressful day at work cause I handed in my resignation and felt pretty bad cause I'm leaving them in the lurch so I came home and ate the remaining choc wafer sticks I had (there was prob quarter a tin left-DD did have a few too) and a big bowl of spaghetti bog. Oops!!! Definitely emotional eater and I know it. Just can't stop myself!!
Hi Girls!
I have started doing tae-bo and my muscles are so sore after 2 days! It's a good pain though because I know that it's gonna be worth having toned muscles and an even hotter body
Tan - Congrats on you mid week loss, how did you go with your weekly weigh in? I think I might check out Jillian's DVD too Just to mix it up with the tae-bo
Kaz - In the beginning I was counting my kilojoules big time and cooked out of the Symply to good to be true books most of the time. It was a huge thing for me to learn proper portion sizes instead of just eating whatever I wanted. Good luck at WW tonight!
Kellijh - Welcome! When I first started I had mini goals of 5kg as well, it makes it seem so much more achievable. What are the main things the dietician has asked you to focus on? I'm not TTC at the moment, hopefully in a few months we will be
JBM - Welcome back familiar face! I did the 10,000 steps challenge a couple of months back with my pedometer. It was great to have the daily goal to get to, I was so much more active then. But now it's too hot to be out walking everyday, I can't do my 1 hr round trip to playgroup because it finishes at 11.30 and it is sooo hot by then, I think I'd get heatstroke of something.
Ngala - Awesome loss last week Don't stress about the food too much, get the bad stuff out of the house so it's not an option and try to have healthy options at the ready. Homemade hommus is awesome and really good for you, you can also precut carrot/celery/capsicum/broccoli sticks, whatever vege you want basically and have that in the fridge to snack on with the hommus.
Mitch - Fantastic loss! Keep doing what you're doing and the weight will keep falling off!
Nickle- That's great that you didn't have a gain, especially with socialising it can be so easy to OD on the snacks and alcohol. I'm not actually in the flooding zone but know so many people affected. My 2 best friends in Brisbane were evacuated and one still hasn't got power back yet, SIL just had a baby in Rockhampton and their house was flooded so she had to take her baby home to MIL's house and they're not sure when they'll be able to go back home due to water damage. So it's been a bit stressful worrying about everyone else
Ngala - 900g loss is awesome! Well done. I am in awe of the amount of exercise you do mate. I also eat when sad, upset, bored etc. It sucks. Try not to stress about it and just get on with making good choices now.
Mitch - wow a 1.9kg loss for you hun and I remember you from a body transformation challenge when I first joined BB.
kellijh - I'm glad you're feeling good. That's the best part of eating well I reckon. I am hoping to be TTC soon-ish. We didn't have any trouble with DS but DP is finishing up chemo treatment next month and we don't know how it's affected his fertility. :fingerscrossed: we're all good but it's another reason I want to get my weight down into a healthy range now.
Nickle - at least it wasn't a gain. Think of it as a consolidation week. And now you know you can maintain your weight while still socialising
Fuzzywuzzy - I've heard of tae bo, is it a bit like tai chi?
AFM - you will notice my ticker now has more weight to lose lol!! I weighed in at WW tonight and I have a little more than I thought. I'm not surprised cause of how tight all my clothes are and I've recently bought a few items in the next size up for work EEEEEK! This is the heaviest I've ever been (not counting pg) and it's a bit depressing but I am trying to look on the bright side that at least I haven't waited until all my clothes are in the next size. I do feel gross though and am really looking forward to making healthy choices and feeling better in myself. I have so many size 10-12 clothes that I used to fit into and when I think about the money I've spent on clothing in 4 different size ranges its a bit mind boggling!
I'm not that fussed on the WW facilitator though. She seems nice enough and she's been doing it for ages but her group facilitation skills are shocking! I do group facilitation/group work in my job so I'm probably a harsher critic than most (although I think it's pretty standard that reading from your session plan in a deapan voice and then expecting people to discuss it enthusiastically is not the way to go lol!). Most of the meeting was spent with her reading rote style and then being greeted with silence after her questions. I can't sit through that each week. Instead of letting it put me off (like it did a bit last time I went 18 months ago) I've decided to be more proactive and help her out a bit by participating a lot. It's not usually my style to be front and centre but I'm going for me so I have to be proactive.
I hope I'm not gatecrashing but I just found this thread and would love to join your plight for weight loss and healthy bodies.
I had my don 15 mths ago and since that time have struggled with the weight loss. Over the past 5 mths I've lost around 15kg but am currently struggling with motivation but would like to lose another 5-10 by Easter. I would love your help with the motivation.
I noticed you all seem to post your weights on Monday's so I will post mine tomorrow (after I weigh in the morning) and then weigh on Monday's too.
Welcome Tammie!! No you are definitely not gate crashing any thing here - The more the merrier I say!! 15kg in 5 months is absolultey awesome!!! Well done You do get to a point where you start lacking motivation and are somewhat comfortable with where you are at. You just have to try and push past that! Are you exercising and eating well? Some times your body can platuea (sp?) so you need to do something different diet or exercise wise to give it a kick start back in to motion. What did you do to lose the 15kg?
Kaz - YAY you joined WW! Good on ya. But oh well at the facilitator not receiving more involvment in the sessions. I hate when that happens cause it end up being a drag. I hope it was just cause it was the first session and things start picking up Oh yes, I love my exercise - I've been doing it for so long now that I don't feel right if I dont get up in the morning and start my day with a jog.
Fuzzy - is tae-bo fun to do? Those sore muscles will stop soon and you will soon see the benefits of the exercising!
Well another blow out for me this afternoon. Not too bad but still a blow out! I keep forgetting to tell myself that "I am eating to a healthy pregnancy!!" I should right that on a post it note somewhere so I don't forget...
Well I weighed myself this morning and I'm quite ashamed to write this but I currently weigh 104.4 kg and am a size 16 top and 18 bottom. I'm aiming to get to 75kg and be size 12-14.
When I first started (on 17/8/10) my weight loss journey I weighed 120 so I have come a long way I guess. I originally started on the Dukan diet which is basically high protein and no carbs. After 3 mths I switched to Tony Ferguson for a bit of a change. I quite enjoy the shakes etc but I've just been maintaining WL through Xmas NY holidays so am looking to start again now.
I don't exercise enough which is my problem... Between work and Eli I struggle to find time regularly. I try to do 50 sit ups 3 times a week and 20 min sessions on cross trainer. I would like to do this 3 times a week but usually only do once ATM... Need to get my ass into gear!
Still going good on the exercise front & ave a couple of girls from work joining me which is awesome... Have my first 5km organised walk on Sunday & hopefully will be able to do the next 3 weekends aswell (a 4 week series in my area)... then not long till the Duathlon (20th March)!!!
Tammie... awesome work on your weight loss... thats awesome...... keep up the good work... you will get there.... good things take time (thats what I keep telling myself lol)...
Have a great weekend everyone...
Catch up on monday, hopefully with another loss....
JBM - you mightn't se the scale move straight away as your body could be adjusting to the new diet so dont be too disheartened.
AFM I'm going to be ashamed to put my weight up tomorrow. Diet been crap few days, AF showed up this morning which I'm not happy bout anyway back on the wagon!!
No scale movement for me this week but my pants are a little looser lol...
Did a 5km walk today with a couple of friends & I did it in 30 mins & there were a few steep bits too lol...
Heres hoping my legs forgive me in the morning...
Must try & eat NO naughty foods this week... that is my mission.... Plus Day1 of non-smoking tomorrow... oh boy wish me luck!!!!
I am weighing in tomorrow morning but I have had a shocker of a week, I was at a course all week and it was stressful and they provided us with BROWNIES every day for mornign tea - I have NO self control. Anyway, the 6 days is over, I passed and got my accreditation and now am back on it! I have my treadmill here now so will get on when the kids nap tomorrow.
Hoping for a bit of a loss tomorrow morning will see how I go - other than morning tea I had sushi for lunch each day and healthy dinners, and although I didn't do any formal exercise we had movement and dance sessions at the course!
Good luck this week everyone - new week new start!
JBM - Im not sure how much you have lost til now but I found that I always plateau and it's hard to stay motivated but hang in there.
Ngala - I had a bad night this week too and we ate RR for dinner - horrible but I just write it off and tell myself I will start again, one bad day doesn't make a bad week or month. xoxo
Tanstar - I can't resist anything chocolate-y either.... That's one of my big diet difficulties.
I'm not looking forward to weighing in the morning. Even though I'm new to this group, I've been dieting for 5 mths and am struggling to be as strict as I was in the beginning months. I'm also due to get my period and am starting to bloat... I sometimes gain up to 1.5-2nd while I have my period so any loss will be positive this Monday and next!
Sounds like some of us have had a tough week but that's ok cause it's the start if a new week and a good time to get serious again!
Tammie - when I was on bcp I used to drop 1-1.5kg before AF but now off it I think I gain it!! will see tomorrow with weigh in if its true as AF is here..
Ok so I have weighed in and lost 200grams so not tooooo bad in the whole scheme of brownies Back on it this week and summoning up some healthy ideas for school next week - we have wicked Wednesday and of course I work on a Wednesday and there is rarely any sight of anything healthy so I will have to use all my self control to hold back from the scrummy food everyone makes. Back to exercising every day too, I really missed it last week, today will be C25K on the treadmill once kids are napping. Raining here in Melbourne blergh. Have a great Monday all! xox
Well down Tan! 200g is good considering you had a bad week!
I am quite embarrassed to admit this and I cant really believe it myself! but here goes..........................
74kg
How embarrassing for me!! 2kg gain. Oh my gosh.. Theres a lot of factors to consider with this gain - period is here, had a sausage sizzle yesterday and enjoyed some beverages, and crappy week with the food. My gut is sore today too so thats not good - too many bread rolls yesterday!!
So, better brush myself off and get back on the wagon.
Ngala - don't stress about the gain. Im the same with AF. Weight loss is so hard around that time.
I weighed this morning.... 3 times with 3 different results. Anything between 104.0 - 104.5. I am going to claim the 104.0.... It's only a 400g loss since thurs but as I said before, better than nothing.
We have visitors coming tomorrow and staying until Sunday which is going to make this week really hard, I'll try to be good though (or good-ish).
I was talking to my trainer about my lack of control with eating at the end of my menstrual cycle and he told me to remove all temptation out of the house so I wont have my pig out! He also thinks that if I mix a bit with the 'bad' with my good diet that it should matter too much. My problem is that the bad is in the evening after work and that is the worst time for carbs! But everything changes next week when I stop working. My plan of attack is as follows...
Monday - PT session
Tuesday - RPM
Wednesday - PT session
Thursday - Body Pump
Friday - Cycle six pack
Thats a crazy amount of exercise isnt it?! But I have GOT to do it cause its the only way I am going to have control of myself not working cause I'll be at home with all my temptation screaming at me to eat it!
