Mitch - That 15 mins on the bike is great!! Its good that you can get to a gym on your lunch break but the limited time is annoying hey? I was going for a jog on my lunchbreaks with another girl at my work but stopped when it got so warm. Jogging in 30+ degrees makes my face go bright red for ages and everyone at work laughs at me!! A diary recording you exercise & eating is a good idea - maybe record how you were feeling that day too?? Could be a good idea to learn WHY you are eating certain foods (eg: comfort eating etc)

Tellytubby - yay another joining the weigh ins! Ahh yes that is a good way of thinking when you start feeling hungry cause its definitely true that the more you exercise the quicker your metabolism works and your hunger will increase. It is important to make sure you eat the right things tho and its good to eat 5-6 small meals a day. But you probably know this from your weight watchers

Well I am feeling good about myself at the moment, well I am actually feel very sore! But its a good sore - its the soreness I get from the gym when I do good workouts and I have done 3 in 3 days! I would make it 4 tomorrow but I don't think I will be able to move! Next week I will be getting up at 5am and start my jogs - cant wait!!

Well I went for a walk this morning because I was feeling a bit better and it was not too bad, the weather wasn't too hot and DD sat in the pram happily the whole way. Only problem was that I needed a 2hr nap to recover from it!

Welcome Mitch! Good on you for exercising during your lunch break. I have found that sneaking little bits into your day can really make a big difference. Actually maybe I need to be getting my pedometer out again and aiming for least at 10,000 steps a day.

TT - What exercise are you doing? That's awesome that you've already got 5 workouts down! We didn't get any of the major water here. Just lots of rain and we were cut off for ages. There is no fruit and veg in the supermarket, no yoghurt/bread/eggs, supplies are running really low at the moment, it's making it difficult to eat healthy!

Ngala - Yay on 3 workouts in a row and starting your runs next week! Definitely take a day off from the gym, your muscles will thank you big time

Nickle - Sounds like you've got the right attitude, you will achieve your goals, I can tell

Fuzzy - I'm hearing you on the lack of fresh foods in the supermarkets Although I imagine our coles/woolworths is not nearly as bad as yours, there isn't much variety! I imagine it will be like that until the roads are opened again. Last night I went to coles to get some salad, well the only salad they had was that prepackaged salad. Total bummer, as I like to make my own. Definitely making weight loss difficult here too. Good on you for getting out for a walk yesterday, exercise does that to me too, totally buggers me! I've asked my mummy to also get me a pedometer from her work (they have zillions lying around), so when I get it, i'll also aim for 10000 steps a day Perhaps we could challenge ourselves?? Who can do the most steps in a week? hehe!

Ngala - Good work on the sore muscles! Yikes, its been a long time since I've had sore muscles from exercise I really need to do strength training, my muscles have pretty much well always been jelly. 3 workouts in 3 days would kill me! Keep up the good work!

Well had a naughty night last night. I'm such an emotional eater, its crazy (heard of some girls doing nasty talk behind my back, grr). DH went fishing and caught some beautiful red emperor. We floured it, and shallow fried it. Had some oven chippies on the side, and my prepacked salad from coles. Then...... we went to dominos and got a lava cake each!! Had it with vanillia icecream! Man it was so yummy, but think I might need an extra large walk today to pay the price! Not going to let it get me totally off track, normally my attitude would be, "ahh well, its already stuffed up this week, I'll just start fresh next week". Such a poor attitude! Keeping myself honest this time!

Oh also, we're having a bbq at our house on saturday!! Thats also going to be difficult...

Fuzzy - good on you for your walk!!

TT - I wouldn't beat yourself up over that lava cake. I always think it is good to treat yourself once a week because if you are so strick with the food you love (cakes, chocolate, lollies etc) if you do slip and have some then you will probably binge and go way overboard (I am guilty of this!! ) So the main thing is, if you do have a slip up make sure you jump back on that wagon the next day!! And I dont think that BBQs are such a bad thing, just make sure you have a huge side of salad and you should be right!

I was really good with my eating yesterday. Might have over done it a bit with dinner but not too much. Jumped on the scales this morning (I've actually weighed myself every morning this week) and I am 200g down - YAY!! Only teeny tiny but its still good to see the weight go down. No gym for me today - I am aching bad!! Can barely move around I was going to do the gardening but we got three huge retaining walls that I need to climb up and in to do tend to the plants and I don't think I will be able to do that!! Will be cleaning the house instead...

Keep up the good work ladies!! I am looking forward to the first official weighin on Monday. Its always good to be doing this with out people

Telly - where did your DH catch the red emperor? I literally just got off the phone from my mum and she was joking that my sister's DF is gonna catch some for them to have for dinner tonight. I'm not sure where he has gone fishing though, somewhere near shoal point i think. At least you recognise that you are an emotional eater, now you just have to nip it in the bud. I am so up for a pedometer comp! Gonna kick your butt

Ngala - Yay for being 200g down. I weighed myself this morning too and was 77.0kg, I think I need to be drinking heaps of water because my body might still be dehydrated. I'm gonna go for an evening walk tonight with DD and DF and got a little bit of incidental exercise in, vacuuming and mopping at playgroup and putting away the playmats

    Hello!!

Only a few days until the first weigh-in. I will definitely be starting Monday and I hope the rest of the crew will be too I have spent the most of today trying to find some way of recording weight, measurements, food intake & exercise on my iPhone. I have found quite a good app that also links with a website. Its called DailyBurn and I must say its pretty awesome!! If you get the iphone app (free) you can scan food barcodes (costs extra) and actually have that food come up in the database, if its not there you simply just add it!

I just set up my profile and I need to eat just a tad over 1900 calories. Which is do-able cause so far I have only eaten 1150 calories but I have exercised at all today so when my exercise starts up means I need to eat MORE to keep those calories up. I think this is going to be a real eye opener to see how much I am really eating cause maybe the reason i cant lose weight is cause I dont eat enough calories to keep up with the calories that I burn?? Hmmm I am really looking forward to seeing how this program works! And you can record notes for each day too so you can track your energy and moods too.

I just have to remind myself not to be too strick on myself because I am TTC and the last thing I want is to affect my fertility because I am too strick. But I am eating healthy (with the old treats) and plan to maintain that way of eating and just increase the exercise..

I have an iphone too Ngala, going to check out the dailyburn app today sometime Thanks for the tip

Haha, I wish that I wasn't losing weight because I'm not eating enough food! I think that as long as you eat healthy food and don't waste all your calories on junk food there shouldn't be a problem with TTC. I really do need to eat more fresh foods myself.

How did your BBQ go yesterday Telly? I had a shocker of a day yesterday - went to a kids b'day party that had a candy shop theme and I just couldn't help myself! I think I may have salvaged a little bit by only having a smaller lunch and dinner but I'll be taking some healthy snacks with me to the next party I think. At least I chose the water option instead of softdrink

No probs Fuzzy. On the website you can record your measurements too. So I am wondering if this will come up on the iphone too? We'll see tomorrow!

I didn't have a good evening last night Had my nephew for the night so took them to Maccas for dinner, which I KNEW would put my calories over, but not by too much. BUT then I gave in to my sugar craving and had some biscuits with my coffee The DailyBurn website told me that if I get going at this rate I will be putting on 100g a week!!

    Morning ladies,

Here we are... Monday! Right, have weighed myself - after a wee and before coffee.... 79.4kg. Slightly more than expected, but only by a kilo or so! 21kgs to lose. I can do this!

DH is back at work today and I was hoping to go for a walk with the pram and the big kids on scooters but rain is predicted for the next few days. I hereby pledge that if I can't get out for a decent walk today I will be ready to head to the gym when DH gets home. I WILL do some exercise today! Bought some new runners yesterday as my old ones were pretty worn out, I'm looking forward to putting them on and hitting the pavement!

Woohoo!! Here we go, ladies... hot, healthy bodies - here we come!!

Well done nickle for being the doing the first weigh in!! Dont you hate how the rain holds you back. THere is heaps that you can do while indoors - squats, lunges, dips , sit ups etc - just got to use your imagination and use bags of sugar/rice as weights!!

Alright.. this is me on the first weigh in. I have recorded measurements too cause its best way (I hope) to keep me on track.

Goal: 68kg & reduce body fat by 5%
    Date: 10 Jan 2011
    Starting weight: 73.5kg
    Body fat: 24%
    Chest: 93cm
    Waist: 87cm
    Hips: 102cm
    Thigh: 59cm
    Upper Arm: 30cm

Ekkk! I weigh more than I thought I would today> I HAVE been good but went to mum's for dinner last night and I always big out! Today I got up at 5am and have done a 10min walk & 10min jog and in half an hour I will be going to the gym to do a PT session.

So thats my start, lets hope that it can improve over the next few months!

    Hi Girls,

Weighed in at 77.7kg this morning which is pretty much what I expected to be at.

I signed up for dailyburn and am going to give it a go recording my weight, exercise and food. I'm not used to working in calories though, normally I go by kilojoules! I think I'm going to be too lazy to record my measurements and will just go by my clothes. Already went for a 40min walked to the shops this morning and had to carry 4 parcels home so that gave me an extra workout

I need to keep my exercise up because that is what will lose the weight for me, my food intake has been pretty good and I think I've found that happy medium where you don't put on weight although I'll gradually need to decrease it to maintain my lower weight.

    LOL Nickle!!
Not a good start for me either - chicken & chips for dinner BUT I did make a side of salad!!

Got knocked down with a headache this arvo so got DH to sort of dinner and thats what he got; Argh, must not let DH do dinner cause he will make it harder for me!!

Mitch - good work on the exercise!

Fuzzy - its an eye opener hey when you see how many calories are in some of the stuff we regularly eat/drink! I told my trainer about this dailyburn site and will show him the reports that I can get for it (I upgraded to the first pro level to have a few of the extra features)

TT - 1.2kg that is awesome!! Well done.

Had a work out with my trainer today, it was good! He is going to start me on a new program so I hope that I can tone up and lose some body fat (main goal is to lose body fat not actually weight) He keeps talking about me entering some women fitness/physique shows and that I have real good potential but need at least 6 months of solid training to get ready for it. Would Love to do it but going to have my bub first and then do that afterwards

Got my ticker on I lost the majority of my weight at the beginning of last year and have maintained it for the last 6 months, now to finally shift these last kilo's. I am aiming for 72kg first and then 70 is the ultimate goal.

Ngala - Frozen vegies are a good quick option and way easier to prepare than salad, probably a bit more filling too. We have been eating heaps of frozen vegies as we haven't been able to buy fresh stuff.

I have been cooking out of the Symply to good to be true books the last few nights, it's great because it gives the nutritional content for the food and is generally low gi so keeps me full. I was within the range of calories for the dailyburn yesterday with a few treats so it seems to be maintainable, will have to wait and see how much weight comes off.

Nickle - Alcohol is evil! and peer pressure doesn't help much either Hope you didn't wake up with a headache today

Mitch - Awesome work on the exercise! How long does it take to ride 7km?

TT - Yay on the 1.2kg loss!

    Hi ladies...

Exercise is going good, have managed to get in either a walk, bike or both so far this week lol... mind you its only Tuesday...

Food better, have been good at not snacking at work.... & DH is on hols at the moment so not nibbling while I decide what to cook & then cooking it...
Writing in my diary each day.. hmm never really took notice of how MUCH i actually can eat in a day Have stopped taking snacks to work & have no shops close enough to pop out for a quick bite... thank goodness!!! Trying to plan a few days ahead for lunches & making a proper lunch for myself when I make DDs lunch for centre at night, instead of firing anything from the cupboard into my handbag on the way out the door!!!

    Anyway.... enough about me ....

Fuzzy... 7km was dont in 2 goes, 2.5km to work took about 15 mins (havent timed exactly but I havent been late yet LOL)... WTG at maintaining the loss from last year
Telly ... 1.2k loss is awesome way to go
Ngala... entering in a comp sure would be motivation.... maybe in the future aye, something to tuck away for a later stage...
Nickle... Alcohol is my evil friend too,... try & avoid it cause the first couple normally taste too good & I need to have a few more LOL
