    Congrats on losing 3kg Shell!

I'm exactly the same as you, I lost all the "baby weight" within a few days of my son being born and then gained it all back in the next coming months!

Keep up all the walking & eating well... We can do it!

    Welcome all the new members!

Sorry, i'm totally guilty of reading, but always failing to post

I'm doing pretty horribly... still. Yes I know fuzzy!!! It's less than 3 weeks away!! I've lost 1.8kg, but still not the 5 that I want. Have been really good this week though, working well under pressure. haha.

Shell you've done well to lose 3kg! Those first few are the hardest, once you start losing, and seeing results, you get more and more motivated!

    hello littlebear

    xx

Nina - It is so not fair that men can lose weight easier than women! 2.5kg in a month is not bad. If you keep up this rate, you'll be surprised when 4 months are gone and you are 10kg lighter. A weight loss ticker is good to track your progress or a weight loss graph

Ally - I find that clothing is a pretty good indicator of weight loss (or gain ) as well. I haven't really been weighing myself either.'

Mr S - That's great news! There are so many different ways of determining a healthy measurement. Cm's is a good one. I'm going with weight and BMI because I am an hourglass figure so have a smaller waist anyway. Weight and BMI makes me work harder

Littlebear - Hi and welcome! I have lost 20kg without stepping foot in a gym so it can be done. Walking is awesome, although you should be aiming to do 30mins a day. If I were you, I'd try and do a double lap of your walk every second day or try to get an extra walk in here and there. Every step counts

Shell - Welcome! 3kgs is a pretty good loss. Food is a huge thing for me, I like to make healthy meals and then freeze them (main meals and snacks) It's so much easier when you have a healthy easy option, especially when it gets to 5pm and you have an overtired screaming child and haven't even started thinking about dinner

TT - 1.8kg is a good loss hun! Keep up the exercise and watch what you eat and I reckon you can do another 2kg easily.

Well I've been slack too. Also been doing the "read and run" thing. The 10,000 step challenge is going really well, it was only for 4 weeks and this is the last week. I have done 10,000 pretty much every day (except one) and am leading my team in the totals. Unfortunately my team are pretty slack so that doesn't mean that much, lol. I think I was already doing 10,000 steps most days anyway before I started the challenge, but it is a good reminder to get out and do some walking if I think I'm going to fall short. I'm still not really focusing on the scales, need to get serious

Hey FW - the 10,000 step challenge sounds awesome! I went for a walk around the botanical gardens in town yesterday, and followed the 10,000 step trail. Did some jogging, but mostly walking. It only took 35 minutes, so was pretty surprised by it! If I wasn't limited by daylight, I would have liked to do two rounds of it. Such a gorgeous walk around there. Who are you doing the challenge with? Are you back at work?? Still living in central QLD? This last bit of weightis hard to budge isn't it! I'm finding, because I'm feeling 100% better than what I was before I started my weight loss journey, getting the motivation to keep going is really difficult. You look fabulous atm. how much are you weighing now, if you don't mind me asking?? My ideal weight is anywhere between 70 to 75. But I just can't get out of the 75 to 80 range atm.
Weighed myself this morning, 3.2 down. So I'm definately on the right track.

Littlebear - FW is totally right. I lost 20kg too, simply by watching what i put in my mouth. I've only recently started exercising to really push me to my dream number!

Also went to story time, then maccas for a play/lunch today. I was really strict, and had a classic salad with seared chicken and balsamic dressing. 5 points worth. And was surprised that it was pretty tasty too! Off for another walk this afternoon. I'm really sticking to my guns atm. Definitely working well under pressure!! W day is 2.5 weeks away!

Also, I've got to start looking in the pocket trader for a second hand double pram.
ATM I'm relying on my sister to come walking, as I only have two single ones. Its a real pain in the bum! Especially seeing as I want to jog more, and she wants to walk.. I'd like to be able to go at my own pace, and go whenever I want to. Gets a bit frustrating.

Hopefully I can pick one up pretty cheap somewhere.

Thanks girls So far so good! Going out for a walk hasn't been that easy as DS is changing routine... I dont want him screaming when I'm 20 minutes away from home lol. But I'm now borrowing my mums treadmill which means I can do it even if the weather is not great! I'll definetly start aiming for 30minutes minimum per day I think!

Glad everyone else is having some good results!

Howdy girls, i think it's really time i got back into working my butt off (literally) to loose this weight.

For so long now i have said i'm going to i'm going to and i try my hardest for a couple of weeks, things get tough at home or with the girls and i give up.
DP made a comment the other day like "oh look at your gut, we need to go on a diet".. this coming from a man who has been 'obese' over 1/2 his life.
I'm sick of not feeling good enough, i'm sick of not looking good enough and always comparing myself to my gorgeous friends.. enough is enough i need some self esteem back!

Will come back and read through and catch up ASAP... might change my ticker to a weight loss for a month or two before DD2's birthday, bout time i make something ABOUT ME.

    Zara - Welcome back
As mum's we often put ourselves on the backburner. We need to remember, in order to look after others, first - we need to look after ourself. And yes, that means putting YOU first, for once. You deserve this. Men can be such tards sometimes, so insensitive! Start walking, eating right, and when he makes another comment like that, hold your head high and tell him that you've lost x amount of KGs, or lost x amount of cms. Then ask what he's lost hehe. That'll make him start to think twice! Have you bought batteries for the scales yet? If not, that is step #1. Then measure your waist, arms, legs etc. Write it all down! Up date weekly! You'll love watching the numbers DECREASE!

Little bear - Great idea on the treadmill! Yes, it is VERY hard to go walking/exercising with a little one. You're doing welll, keep it up!

    Ok guys need some help

As above i have lost 3kg..

Since then i have followed my healthy eating plus stacks of cardio plus weights a lot of activities , i can see my body has changed, toned , i can feel the muscle and my clothes are fitting better. But today i weighed myself and it says that i have put the 2-3 kg back on!
Is it coz muscle weights more than fat? I am confussed but not to upset as i can see my body has changed ,but still confused. As if i go by BMI or healthy weight range its all telling me to lose 5 kg or so to be healthy yet i am gaining muscle and have toned up a lot and if i lose any mor weight i would feel end up looking to light ,but how am i meant to be in the 'healthy BMI' if i keep getting fit yet muscle seems to make my weight on the scale not change or even go up?

BMI is a load of crock. my DH, is 6 foot 3 and weighs 94kgs, and i think he's pushing obese with his BMI, but he's literally a bean pole... seriously. there is nothing fat let alone obese about him. Go by your clothes, by how your body feels & not the numbers

    Well done everyone!!

Shell - There are a few reasons you could have supposedly put the weight back on. Could have something to do with your cycle, it could be the muscle tone (which as someone else mentioned is good because it helps burn more fat!) or your scales could be out! If you can feel and see a difference, ignore the scales!

Well, I've lost 3.2kg so far and I'm feeling really good about myself! I can't see a difference but I know that it will all add up and I'll wake up one day & fit into my goal jeans so I'm just trying to hang in there!

    Hi everyone
I haven't been in here for a while so well done to everyone on their latest kilo shifting!
I've lost 2kg since starting up at the gym, I was a little disenchanted at first as I was hoping to lose the weight a little more rapidly than 2kg in 1 and half months but DH put me in my place pretty quick and told me to be patient lol! I'm definitely feeling trimmer and more toned in most places but there a few I'm quite sure how to target, I tend to go to the gym late in the evening so haven't got a chance to go to a class yet or meet with a PT but I thought maybe someone in here could point me in the right direction? What kind of exercises would I need to do to target my 'love handle' and inner thigh areas? Not at the same time obviously!
