Ahh honeymoon period is now over. +4g later. Weighed in yesterday at 83.8 Far out!! And I told myself I'd never get into my 80's again. Pft.

Did really well yesterday, back to counting my points. Just limiting to 18 points a day, try and get some weight shifted ASAP. Last night I cooked ww pork strog for dinner, was ok.. TOnight another ww recipe chicken and asparagus strudel. Really want to lose this weight... There is a friend of mine who has lost a lot of weight. She looks soo smokin'. And i'm sooo jealous! LOL!

Seriously, feeling really fugly lately. I know its just the extra weight.. but I'm such a frumpy person in general.. Never been stylish, always tshirt and shorts kinda gal. And if i do buy nice clothes they're something that my mum could wear... Once I get in my low 70's I think I need a wardrobe change.. get some YOUNG peoples clothes! FFS I'm only 25!

Zarah - just noticed your ticker! Nice work on the loss so far xo

I've had a quick read through this thread and I think it's for BB members to discuss and support each other in their weight loss efforts?? It's been a month since anyone posted though... I could do with some motivation and support and am happy to offer the same... anyone interested???

Hey tt, At this stage my plan is to walk a lot with the pram and watch what I eat. When my big kids go back to school I will start going to the gym (I've been making donations for the last year and haven't been once!!). The gym has a creche I used for my DS and it was a great motivator as you have to book and pay for it the week before. The lady who runs it is gorgeous (I hope she's still there!) and if I didn't turn up she'd give me a hard time... just what I need as I can be a bit lazy! I also have an addiction to fried food... mmmm, hot chippies!!!.... and I don't mind the odd chocolate bar. Uh oh... I might have some issues to deal with!!

What sort of exercise do you... do? I was going to say 'enjoy' but the only exercise I enjoy is walking, the rest of it is just a means to an end!! Do you enjoy the physical hard work?

I used WW after I had my DD7 and it was great. I lost about 12 kgs and kept it off until falling pg with DS5. I read something about the new points system and I did hear that fruit is now 0 points. Yay!! Is it all fruits? The only problem I had with WW was that I found the meeting a bit boring but the weigh in incredibly motivating. So I basically ended up paying $16 a week to be weighed! I will try without WW this time and see how I go... Don't know much about the online system, maybe I should have a look?

So, how much weight do you have to lose? My goal weight is 58kgs, it's where I'm comfortable and feel fit and confident. I am currently at the holiday house and don't have any scales, but I reckon I must be close to 78kgs. OMG.... I have 20 kgs to lose!!! Ah well, one kg at a time!!

    Hello
Would love to jump in here and get motivated again!! I dont have much weight to lose, only a few kgs but I would love some support. I am currently TTC so I am not really dieting just trying to eat healthy. The past 2 weeks have been hard with Xmas, New Years and being on holidays from work. I LOVE going to the gym and jogging in the morning but finding it very hard to get motivated especially with DH & DD on holidays too but DH went back to work this morning and I am planning to hit the gym tomorrow when they first open and get back in to it.

I am feeling ok, currently about 72kg (I hope, been a while since I weighed!) but I know I can do better than that. About a year or so ago I got down to 64kg but found it very hard to maintain so I while be happy to get to 68/69kg and would love to do that before getting pg again!

I gained a lot during my pgncy with DD so I am hoping to avoid that this time by sticking to the gym and eating as healthy as I can! I am currently working with a personal trainer so I hope that is my motivation to stick with the gym during my pgncy.

I hope that I can support other people here too. I have soo much knowledge in my head that I love sharing! I am planning on doing a course in personal fitness & nutrition this year and cant wait to learn some more.

TT - I would love to hear more about this WW system. I dont have much weight to lose but would love to hear about it.

Ngala, how good are you , heading back to the gym the day they open! I can't go until my big kids are back to school as the creche only takes kids up to school age. I'm a bit nervous about leaving Miss P in the creche, but they were fantastic with my DS and I know I'll be right in the next room if she needs me.

Ngala, I hope you have success TTC very soon! I couldn't exercise during any of my pg's as I suffer SPD, this pg I gained about 12kgs. I was already over my goal weight when I fell pg.

I'm not doing a whole lot of organised exercise right now. We're up a the holiday house until Saturday and so I'm still sort of in relaxed mode. I have been walking on the beach most days, although not really for exercise. I've also been jet skiing a lot which works my arms and legs... holding on for dear life, usually with a passenger dangling off the back of me! I am trying to find the motivation to start a more planned and organised exercise and eating plan next Monday... I've set Monday as my Start Day! I don't want to diet as such, just focus on eating healthy, low fat food and cutting out the crap.

Funny, I don't feel as overweight as I know I am. Sometimes I catch sight of myself in a mirror or a window and think 'who's that fat chick??!!'. Not a feeling I like! I'm looking forward to feeling proud of my appearance again. I am proud of everything my body can do and has done, but honestly... I'd like to feel hot!!! What's your motivation for weight loss ladies?

Nickle - I actually failed on getting to the gym this morning!! DH left for work at 6.30am so I couldnt go. Was meant to get up for a job, had my clothes &shoes out ready to go but that was a failure too!! Had a pretty broken nights sleep from the heat so thats my excuse

I think it is really REALLY hard sitting to you fitness routine while you are on holidays!! I usually get up at 5am and take the dogs out for a walk/jog, come back home & spend 10 mins doing an abs workout. Then depending on what time I start work, I'll get in to the gym for an hour after I drop DD off at daycare. But cant do that right now cause I am on holidays and so is DD. One more week and everything will be back to morning. But I WILL TRY even HARDER to get up in the morning for my jog!

Weighed myself this morning - 72.8kg. Not too bad considering I have not been exercising the last week.

What sort of healthy eating are you planning nickle? I use the Low GI 'diet' and try and keep my protein intake a lil bit higher too. At the moment I am really liking cheese, ham, tomato & avocado on rice cakes! It goes down pretty well for lunch cause its so simple and I always have the stuff that I need.

    Hi Guys,

Nice to see some new faces in here! I would love to help revive this thread too. I haven't really been on BB much but will be making an effort to keep up with this thread.

I have also put on a little bit of weight Purely because I haven't been walking as much because we have had tons of rain = mosquitoes plus when it isn't raining it is soo hot. So I have to figure out what I'm gonna do about my exercise, maybe running at night time while DF gives DD a bath and story before bed? Or we could all go for a walk after dinner.

Not making excuses or anything but I have been really sick the last 4 days with some kind of food poisoning thing *TMI* going to the toilet at least 30 times a day is not cool! So I have to get my fluids back up and get back to normal before weighing in and starting to exercise again.

I don't think I have ever posted my actual weight in this thread but that is about to change I'm even gonna start a weight loss ticker. I know I was 79.1kg last week and even though I weighed 77.8kg this morning I think alot of that is dehydration. So official weigh in next Monday I think. I want to get down to at least 72kg and tone up my muscles. Sorry for the all about me post but I need to get this down for myself.

Welcome Nickle and Ngala and big HI!!! to Telly - Bugger about putting weight back on, I'm in the same boat matey

    Hello Fuzzywuzzy!!

Good on you for jumping back on the board I have been MIA for the past 2 or so yrs but came back on when we decided to TTC#2. The current weather is definitely difficult to exercise in. I normally go for a jog in the morning at 5am but finding that difficult now cause I am on holidays and love sleeping til 7am instead. Each night I put my clothes out for the morning, but I just switch my alarm off and keep on sleeping!

I think I am going to make Monday my official weigh in day too!! Would anyone be keen to post their measurements & BMI too?? I would be keen because I am at a stage (well I was at a stage) that I wasnt actually losing WEIGHT because I was gaining muscle so the only way to know if things were changing was to measure cm's and do body fat % with my trainer at the gym. We could maybe record something like....

    Goal Weight = xx kg
    Date: xx/xx/2011
    Measurements & Weigh in..
    Weight: xx kg
    BMI: xx
    Body Fat %: xx
    Chest: xx cm
    Waist: xx cm
    Hips: xx cm
    Thigh: xx cm
    Upper Arm: xx cm

Could maybe even put down the exercises we did for the week/fortnight/month (depending how often you want to weigh in) and what your eating habits were like. Could even put in a part that shows how much weight or centimeter was lost/gained during that time too. Atleast then we have a place to record and be accountable for how we are progressing!! I have read in a women's fitness mag that if you put this information out there for everyone to see, then you might be a bit more stricker with your weight loss??

Love to hear what people think!!

AFM - I made it to the gym yesterday YAY! I went in the afternoon and my trainer was just about to start his workout so he told me to do it with him. And my GOSH he can lift some weights!! Back in his young days he was a body builder so I guess it was expected. He pushed me too, which was good. It was a bit different training WITH him then him just training me so I wonder if he is going to take a different approach now? I wouldn't mind having a training session a week with him.

That sounds awesome Ngala! I am keen to do measurements too. I have a habit of weighing myself most days (same time everyday in the morning in my pjs after I've been to the toilet) because I find that it keeps me on track but Mondays will be the official weigh in day.

That's cool that you got to do a session with your trainer yesterday. I understand what you mean about it being different training with them compared to having them train you. 5 years ago I was running and going to the gym and seeing a PT pretty much 6 days a week and I was so fit and toned. I am not sure if I'll be able to get back to that level of fitness without setting foot inside a gym again.

BTW I can't see myself getting up at 5am anytime soon, I am so not a morning person!

Weighing every day is a good idea to keep yourself on track. I weight maybe 3 times a week?? I tend to weigh myself in the mornings but AFTER my jog, which I know I shouldn't because its not my true weight. So will need to do it before my jog I think!!

My weight flucuates so much too!! I hate it, drives me up the wall and also my trainer. I would LOVE to be able to keep it steady but I retain a lot of water, especially when it is humid And its been humid for the past 3 days here!!

Ok - so who is in for the first weigh in on Monday??!! So far there is Fuzzywuzzy and me!! Anyone else going to join??

    Hello Mitch!
I remember you from my BB days a few years back.

Welcome to the weigh in!! The first weigh in will be the hardest, but then you can set yourself some goals. Its also good to set your final goal but make sure you set some little milestones too so you know that its the little steps that count!! Good luck with the duathlon!! You can do it!

So we have a lil crew happening here..

    Heya

I went to the gym at work at lunchtime, only had time to do 15mins on the bike, but better than nothing... might have to work on not having breaks & adding them to the half hour I get for lunch!!!

I think I will get myself a diary & record my food & excercise each day, that should help keep me honest LOL

Good luck to everyone else on the fitness/weight loss trail...

I posted a huge post the other night and the power went out Total bummer

Nickle - Taking advantage of the daycare at gym sounds fab! would be lovely to have some mummy time, and just enjoy your own company for a while. I'm too scared to take the plunge of joining a gym, with the fear of just making donations every month also, haha!
Fuzzy - Good to see you again Have missed seeing your avy around lately I know, I'm kicking myself on the weight gain, but am feeling more determined than ever to get this weight off!! how did you guys go in the floods?
Ngala - I'm keen to join your group I was 87.6kg on Saturday (day one of weight watchers online). I should do a weight loss ticker too... would be motivating seeing the numbers slowly decrease!

I've also been doing leesas fat chic slim challenge for the week. 5x45minute cardio. So far so good!! Have already completed my 5 sessions (as I started on sat). But am determined to do some exercise everyday if the weather is kind
Look forward to keeping this thread alive with you all! xox

Mitch - keeping a food diary is one of the best places to start! Often people don't realise exactly how much they're eating until they actually write it down. I know I'm a bit like that!

Ooo Ladies, I was watching a weight loss show on SBS the other night, forget what it was called But this lady said, every time she starts to feel hungry, she takes it as her body's way of saying, "you're doing an AWESOME JOB! This is the feeling of your body eating a way at your stored fat! keep up the good work!"
I really liked this way of thinking!! I've been trying to think this way ever since!
    just thought i'd share! xo
