I'm taking a bit of a hiatus. I need to regroup and refocus. I have had a terrible week, both with eating and just in general. So taking a little time to be easy on myself.

    Hi all,
I'm going to weigh myself after I can detach the booby monster!
I have been good today and yesterday after a rubbish weekend

Went for a ling walk to bunnings and bought some herbs and made a herb garden with Dd1, I have just clocked up 9,000 steps.
Lunch was salad, cheese and chicken (not much cheese)
Goal for today - no cordial
No snacks after dinner other than fruit.

Beckeos - like the FB idea, I'm not brave enough for that though

lillias....sometimes you have to do that, enjoy and i hope next week is better for you!

its only there for about 6 people to see that i feel safe sharing with...still i felt a bit brave doing it! its a good motivation...so far. id love to do a few big walks, 9000 steps is pretty good!!!!!!

So got back from the shops with NO chocolate or sweets.....DD1 saw something on play school and wanted to make it so we have a small tub of cream and a packet of mini meringues...which is taking all my will power not to open now!! but thats it for 'naughty' stuff, normally i wouldnt have thought twice about opening them and having a handfull. also we would have come home with two packets of biscuits, a few big bars of chocolate (saw a HUGE 1kg bar for under $5 and i know we would have bought it) and i would have bought stuff to do at least one baking sesion in the week.....so one packet of meringues is pretty bloody good!!

having another cuppa and hiding the merigues!

another good day yesterday. i had the best dream that i was stuffing my face with so much beautiful chocolate. i actually woke up feeling very guilty! maybe tonight il dream i ran a marathon to even it out!?

so far so good today, although both the kids are asleep and dh has gone to work and im hungry and trying to wait till dinner, a hand full of almonds just doesnt cut it!!! and we have NO fruit or veg in the house as dh is going to the fruit shop today....so i cant even grab an apple or something!

DD1wanted pies for dinner so i made some mini beef pies, not the healthiest and as i dont have anything to made a big salad to go with it i think today might not be as great as the last two.

i feel like im trying to give up drugs or something...well maybe not quite so dramatic , but its hard, the last year...since getting pg with dd2...i really havnt held back on the sweet treats, if i wanted it, id have it...and not having any sugar is really hard. i had to have a cuppa with half a tsp of sugar ealier...i just couldnt NOT have it!!

will power, will power, will power.

off to do house work to take my mind of it and burn some energy!! hope everyone else is doing well!!

Beckoes - yup - will power is high on my success list too. There is so much temptation out there I'm finding my stubborness is a good thing for once lol! Glad you liked the blog, I'm a pretty $hit author I know - but I just want everyone to know that it IS achievable. You're doing all the right things, so hang in there!

Im the same, during my pg i ate and ate... i had a lot of crap going on and so ate as comfort, now i am paying the price.
night time is my worst i just get a really big sugar low and snack.
Last night i am a bit annoyed at myself, i had 4 biscuits (1 with DD when she had hers before bed and 3 later on ) they are not terrible ones, oatmeal, but they are full of sugar.
Also i have been having a hot chocolate in the evening to help me sleep, dont think that is helping either!

On a positie note though, i did 14,000 steps yesterday and i have just clocked over 10,000 today, so at least i am moving this ar$e!!!

Going to check out your blog Leesa, trying for inspiration ... should change my ticker like you Beckoes - that will make me face up to it more... got to decide on a goal though

    Woohoo!
3.6kg down week one of the 17day diet! And I had a no diet night with pizza when unexpected friends came and a choccy in there too!

Lost a few cm off tummy and thighs, and about 5 off bust - of course - where I don't need to lose it!

    Wow! That's an awesome loss!
I had a look for 17 day diet, but could actually find all the details. Not sure of I could manage a strict diet with BF though... But a 3.6kg loss in a week, very tempting!

Ausgirl - Way to go!!! That's very impressive!!! Well done, you must be so stoked!

Sammiejane - you've reminded me I need to find my pedometer! That's fantastic steps you doing there. If it helps any with the hot chocolate, I find that I sleep worse after something like that at night, too much sugar & caffeine (yes even that little bit) for me. Could you try a milo instead?

Leesa - I wanna come squiz at your blog now too!

AFM well I'm being taunted again. Into the 61's today!! OMG is that exciting or what... and would put me on a .8kg loss for this week. So I'm gonna make today a fabbo food & walking day, and hopefully tomorrow's weigh-in will show the same loss. I stuck post-it notes all around the house this week saying things like "61 you can do it" etc... it has helped.

Hello ladies, just have to share how proud of muself I am, lol! I was so good yesterday!! Though I'm not necessarily going hard with the weightloss thing, I'm not weighing in or any of that yet....yesterday I ate so well, and...get this....I went for a walk!!!!! LOL!! For the first time in months, I made myself drop everything else I was doing and went for a walk with DS2 in the pram! Plus I did a truck load of housework too. I felt so good yesterday arvo, and sooo tired last night! But it has motivated me because I felt so good. I'm not putting any pressure on myself yet, like counting calories or weighing in anything, I will just go with the flow for the next week or so. I feel good doing it this way. I know eventually I will have to focus more, but for now, this is good!!

well done, thats awesome!! looked it up and its a bit hard core for me, i L.O.V.E my food and there is no way i could stick to it! i struggle now and im just cutting out the crap. awesome results though!!!

Belfie: well done to you too, loosing nearly 7 kgs already!! the postits sound like a great way to motivate yourself!

Lilias: way to go with the walking!! and yay for feeling so great after doing it!! i like the idea of not stressing about weighing in etc yet....everyone has to find thier own little tricks etc to make it work for them.

On that note, im interested to know....what do you do to loose cms from you waist???

this is my aim, just to loose a few cms, everything else will follow i recon, but i dont know how as ive never focused on this really, normally just weight loss. so what do you do. ive been doing a bit of pilates and building up to doing longer sessions....but i cant really go for walks as we live in the country, not near any where i can walk to, live on a country road and people drive like crazy down there, wouldnt feel safe walking there with two kids. i walk up and down our drive way a few times. any tips????

Thanks everyone! Yes it is alot in a week, the first week usually is fairly big because it's more of a detox than anything. I am doing this diet cause I really need fast weight loss early to keep me going!
It is strict, for the first 17 days - then the cycle changes and you can add more things in - red meat, some starches and carbs. The theory is supposedly that changing every 17 days keeps your body from platauing and stopping with the weight loss.

I don't think this would be suitable for breast feeding mums - it's around 1200 cal a day - up to around 1500.

Yeah, agree with Ausgirl on that one - general guidelines for BF mumma's are around the 2000 calories per day for that 17 day diet. (Great loss Ausgirl!).

I'm so so proud of you Lilas! I'm glad you had a brilliant and healthy day yesterday - keep it up hun!

Belfie - you are doing so so well my dear. How many more kilos to go till your goal (was it early 50's?). Sorry, hard to keep track of everyone I watch lol! (Oooh, hope i don't sound like a stalker lol!).

Mr S - Where are you matey?

Beckoes - they recommend women have a waist measurement of <80cms to reduce risk of cardiac disease. So best thing to do is cardio, shed the fat covering that sexy 6 pack hiding just underneath . So running, jogging, walking, cycling, swimming, group fitness classes - whatever floats your boat. And I'm really happy to read the 'rest will follow' comment - because you are so right. Basically we'll lose the weight from where we least care about firstly - arms, boobs etc, THEN we'll lose it from legs, belly, hips etc (the place where most women focus on). But rest assured cardio will fix it!

thanks. im kinda stuck at home most days as we only have one car and we live in the middle of no where. think i might have to start thinking outside the box as eventhough im cutting put the bad foods i dont think im going to loose anything without doing some more cardio type stuff!!

WOOT! I got my 61's (61.2 to be precise - haven't been this weight since before having my kids!!!!!). Am stoked, as this is a loss of 1.1kg this week
Re the 80cm waist guideliness, I am aiming for that but not for cardiac reasons, but rather diabetic risk. It's interesting, cos even though my BMI is now 24.5, my waist is still 91cm. (I hadn't actually realised it was important from a cardiac point of view so thanks for sharing that!) I'm so apple shaped... so still got some work to do!

Beckoes - I'm sure if you google you could find lots of great ways to work out at home. Whether it's dancing as you do the housework, or jogging on the spot here & there. I've done squats & boxed with my arms as I push DS on the swing (one squat between each push!) felt like an idiot, but hey, I was getting my exercise! Regarding the tummy, well I'm the same with that as my problem area, and I would have always said it's my worst weight loss area.... but actually each time I've lost weight, I've actually lost the most off my waist (atm I'm sitting on 9cm off bust, 10cm off waist & 7cm off hips). If you work out well, the weight will come off everywhere... as they say, you can't "spot" lose, but getting fitter & healthier can only improve your problem area.

Leesa - not stalkey at all! Or if it is, well I like it . I was going for 58 as my goal, but I'm tempted to take it down to 56 (after talking to GF who currently has a great bod & similar size body to me - we're both shorties). Plus I've based it on what I have to do to get to that 80cm waistline, and even at 58kg, I'll only be just on 80cm. So I'll try get to 58 and see how that feels I think. My goal is to get to my goal weight by DD's 1st birthday in Sept. And then I go clothes shopping . But for now, I want to get into the 60's... oooh lordy that will be exciting! My bod hasn't seen the other side of 60 for a while.

Re the BF'ing calories, I aim for 1880 per day but i'm not tracking it at all currently. I'm kinda used to how much food it looks like, and I found that looking after my snacks was the main issue. Once I'm not TOO naughty on my snacks & do at least 30 mins exercise per day (might be only walking) but I guess I also chase the rugrats all day too lol, then I seem to progress ok. Just thought that might be useful for the other BF'ing mamas.
