Awesome work eluned!!!!!!so proud of you!!!!!!!!!!
Leesa's Lair of Triumph= +1 VOTE!
Hello every1, glad to see we are active in here, didnt do my walking last night, got home and we had to go to my BF's place to pick some stuff up from a weekend bbq....THEN never got to get on X-Trainer this morning, had a BD session instead hehehe
But back to oval today for dog walkies, Im thinking of joining the gym for 6 months, it works out cheaper if I do, currently pay $15 every visit (am only going twice a week) but I think if I pay will be more inclined to go, am considering getting work to cover it through incentive scheme they have running....whats your opinions ladies, do you go to the gym if you have paid the money?! I just dont want it to be a waste IYKWIM?!
Tan - I pay for gym and go. My incentive is my goal + my trainer checks the computer to see if I am going + I usually want to go.
How is everyone doing?
Well, I didn't get to the gym Fri night as I went out with a friend from work. Saturday I was too tired after my night out! I had intended to go but I could barely stay awake! I did go today though. And when I got there, the gym was almost empty! Only 2 others in there! The centre was packed due to other sports though. But it was empty enough for me to really relax and get into my session - similar to if I was at home. I did 20 min on the treadmill and felt like I could have kept going. But I stopped and did the xtrainer... normally I do 10 on that and get off. But I figured, what the hell! And I did 20 minutes!!! I was wrapped with myself! My left thigh was hurting and my hip started to struggle at the 18 minute mark... but I did it! Then I did the bike. I was hoping to do 20 on that as well but really struggled to keep my RPM up. And the pain was unbearable in my hip. So I got off at 10 minutes and then went back to the treadmill for 10 minutes. By the time I did my 60 minutes, there were 20 people in the gym so I again walked out without stretching but did it at home. I burnt more calories tonight than I normally do in a session. I am so proud of myself!!!!
The xtrainer is killing my shoulder though. Seriously killing it. I should tell D about it but kinda can't be bothered. Hoping it will be ok by Tuesday.
Keep active girls!
Yay to EVERYONE for making strides towards their fitness regime (and thinking of a name for my gym lol)!
Has anyone seen or heard from Winter lately? I'm getting worried now....
Good Monday morning (although its probably afternoon for most of you on the east coast)
MG - Good work on the gym yesterday
Well I was very naughty on the weekend, didnt do any exercise but still eating sensibly so thats a plus. Did weigh in today and have managed to lose 0.5 kgs so very happy with that! Have combat tonight so looking forward to sweating it out as well.
leesa, I haven't seen Winter around either! I must have missed your post about naming your gym. Is this a home gym?
Tan, well done on the eating and weight loss!
MG, how are you going? Are you loving the gym yet?I hope you are having a pain free day.
I jogged again yesterday. It was only a short one 1km to mum's house each way. I jogged/walked with DD in the pram. DH pushed DS on his little bike. DS was my coachyelling out "Mummy, run!" and "Mummy, stop!" LOL was cute and he gave me a good workout
Did a light pilates DVD today as my pelvis felt very sore last night and today. I've booked into my old Pilates class for tomorrow night (well I'm just waiting for them to call back to confirm). I don't know why but I was really nervous about ringing to book myself in. I love Pilates and want to get back into it but nervous about starting over again I guess.
If the name is for the benefit of Leesa - I say Lair of Triumph, but if it's for others (like her victims..) - I'd say 'Lair of Torture'.![]()
Today I started trying to break my carb addiction and it went fairly well. The whole family went for a walk after work which was good too. But my knee is hurting a bit and I'm not sure what's wrong there...
The lady who lives across the road does Yoga and I've been umming and ahhing about joining her night class for a while - but I think I'll join now, just to help with a bit extra moving around. Whaddya think?![]()
my walking is going well atm and i discovered yesterday that where i walk they have put up equipment that you can use like a rowing machine not a real one but some thing similar and a few other things so i can go for my walk and also get a bit of a workout at the same time
Tan - well done on the weight loss.
Leesa - no, not heard from Winter! Hope she is ok!
Eluned - I am so proud of you! YOU ROCK! How are you feeling today? I understand the hesitance - I have it about certain activities too.
Nettie - what have you got to lose by doing the yoga? I say go for it!
Mr S - that's great they have that equipment!
AFM - just got back from PT. Bit of a mixed session. He hit me straight away with my injuries. He's obviously noted during the week that I've been favouring my left shoulder. I tried to avoid the question... he wouldn't let up. He wanted to do some work on my shoulder with his spikey ball identical to mine. I reluctantly agreed. For those who know my background, you'll understand what that meant for me. Unfortunatley it didn't help much. It felt a little loser during the session but kills again now. He's writing me a stretch program for it which should help. I hope. Anyway, it was an ok session. But I feel like I need more cardio - esp since I didn't do any yesterday. I am going to try and get to the centre 30 min before my session next week so that I can do 30 min cardio before PT. Since I'm coping with my cardio on my own at the gym, D wants to use our sessions to focus on weights and rehab stuff. I loath the word rehab. After 12 months of it, I am monumentally over it!
Keep active girls (and Mr S)!
Nettie, I think yoga is a great idea. You should give it a go for a few classes and then make a firm decision either way. I think it will be great to balance out with other exercise. I have heard that old shoes can cause sore knees. I hope yours feels better soon. How are you breaking your carb addiction? If you don't eat carbs what can you eat? I'm at a loss to all these diet things, wouldn't know where to start!
Mr Squidipa - I have noticed "gym equipment" popping up around parks, walking routes around town as well. They are becoming quite popular I think!
MG - thanksI'm feeling much better today, although slightly ouchy but nothing too bad. I hope the stretching program really helps you

So, I'm all booked in and confirmed for my pilates class tonight! Woohoo! I can't wait. I'm excited about it now. I even went and bought some new exercise pants this morning to wear.![]()
Wow, everyone is really ticking along!
Nettie: Yoga is a fantastic way to go. I loved yoga when I was doing it regularly.
Hi Mr SquidWe have gym equipment popping up around our parks too. Iti's apparently very common overseas and no-one joins a gym OS.
Well I am having a week off. I have a cold and trying to fight it. I went to Attack on Sunday to see if I could excercise it away. Seems to be getting a bit worse so thought it best to have a weeks break and get back to it next week.
I couldn't do Pump on Monday as DD has had a pretty nasty cold too.
I will see how I am on Sunday and may go to Attack.
Have a great week everyoneI'll be your cheer squad this week

So when illness hits my house it hits it HARD. All the kids and DF have been sick and lucky me spent 2 days babying all of them (no joke DS wanted to be nursed with me bottle feeding and reading to him ALL DAY!).
So I finally got back to gym yesterday and managed 50mins of cardio and then weights. To help it I walked to and from (about 20 mins round trip).
But guess what? The man cold is back *rage* so I cant go to gym tonight so Im making him promise I can go tomorrow. I dont care if he gets mauled by a shark in his sleep Im going!
Hey everyone!!!
Right - its time to get real. Whose up for a monthly challenge (again)? We did the push up thing in June - lets put our own personal goals 'out there' - make us accountable for our own achievements and work toward them during August.
'Without goals we are like a ship in the middle of the sea, just drifting away with no sense of direction. It just goes with the flow, so to speak, and if it ever gets anywhere it is just by mere accident. In order to achieve success in our bodybuilding program, our goal should be clearly defined and engrained in our brains. Otherwise, like the boat on the example above, if you get anywhere it will be by mere chance'......
So its time to think of an achievable short term (4 weeks) goal. Take some time out when you've thought about it, post it on this thread AND your signature :-) If you dare hahahaha!!
hmmmm a short term goal huh.... what to chose, what to chose... does NOT killing my trainer count? Hmmm Last time we did upper body, this time why don't we do lower? We could do lunges... or plank hold... or squats...
Rhy, sorry everyone has been so ill at yours. Hope you're all better soon and you can get back to the gym tomorrow.
Heather, if it's the same cold I had the other week then rest is def the best thing! I had it for two weeks but was up for a light workout by about day 5. Feel better soon!
Eluned - so glad you pulled up ok! Can't wait to hear how pilates goes!
Just wanted to warn those of you on my facebook page... my trainer has "requested friendship"... and I've (VERY reluctantly!) accepted... so there goes my fun bagging him out on there!![]()
Lol, he now has female PT competition hehehe!!
I was thinking we all have our own individual goals, but we can do a group one instead (or as well?)
hmmm then my goal is going to be 30 min on crosstrainer and 15 on bike!
Did you hear from Winter Leesa? Now you can check out his link!He wants me to "like" his business page... yeah yeah, don't I drum up enough business for you buddy?
Heather - I hope you're feeling better soon.
rhyb - I also hope your household gets better soon! Great workout and I hope you get to go to the gym tomorrow.
leesa - I think that's a great idea! I have a few goals. I just need to work out what's achievable in 4 weeks!
AFM, I showed up at Pilates tonight. There were six others but the instructor didn't show!!! Sooo annoyed! We all waited for 20 minutes then left. One good thing out of it though is that I grabbed a foam roller and ironed out my psoas and ITB. Felt good!
