I lost 25 kilos in 7 months before I had my first baby, and kept it off for 8 months til I got pregnant.
The best thing I did was break it down in to min goals.

And here comes the uber geek part.

I made an excel spreadsheet that calculcated my current and goal BMI based on the weights I entered, and it also graphed my weighloss so I could see the progress I was making.

I put i the start date and allowed for 0.5 kilo loss per week.
Then I had a column for how much I actually lost, and it worked out my new weight, and how much I had to lose per week after that to still get to my goal on schedule.

Of course, we arent all computer nerds like me

I also went to a meeting once a week where you get weighed, like weight watchers but community run/ not for profit. so you pay like $4 a meeting or something

I exercised or went to the gym 4-5 times a week, cut down on softdrink, snacking between meals and began eating breakfast.

The person who said they got happy hit it on the head too - exercise puts you in a better mood, andt he more you do the better you feel.
If you want to do something like that but don't have the computer brains to pull it off - like me, try the calorie king site, there is an online tool like this, that charts weight loss and size changes.

Rayray any chance you have a copy of that spreadsheet???

    Wanna be my buddy
Rayray have yuo got a copy of that spreadsheet, sounds awesome!

DC I LOVE to be your buddy!!!!!

What is your lifestyle and diet like?
It is bad I really do NOTHING for myself. I run after kids and DH thats it.
I do exercise, but its with the kids so nothing for ME.

So me losing this weight, is not actually about me losing the weight as much as changing my lifestyle and life for ME, for the first time ever, I will put myself first. I will make time to eat properly and exercise.

I want a future, and if I keep going I will not have one.

Hi I haven't lost a huge amount .. yet! I am doing weight watchers - which I love as I can eat what I like as long as it is in moderation. One of the best things it does it teach you about portion size. and the best things that i have done is buy a good set of digital scales and weigh just about everything I eat. It also helps to compare brands and nutrition labels as what is healthy in one brand wont be in another brand. When you read the nutrition label on a product, it helps to weigh out one serve and see just how big that really is. I have nearly 40kg total to lose.

    My starting weight was 103kg
    Current weight 89kg
    Goal weight 65kg
    Height 175cm

Good luck - just take baby steps and soon it just seems to be a way of life... And it really does make you happy
