Having a mother who is a Size 6-8 and at most 50kg with A cups is depressing too *sigh*
I got the short genes from mum and the fat genes from my father. LOL!

I'll be your mother Ash!!! Then you can have a fatter one- no boobs though sorry.

LOL I don't want boobs haha!!
I really need to get on a waiting list for a reduction because they are causing me no end of health/body/psychological issues.

I have done a lot of research into how I am going to tackle this challenge and I am feeling really confident and motivated. Now to 'stick it out' through the sugar detox. Eeeeeek.

I know a few people who have had reductions and they are so happy afterwards.
If I give up sugar I get cranky and quit quickly so I am just cutting down on things and trying to exercise more.

I've opened and read this thread many, many times in the last couple ofdays and have chickened out on replying, but this morning I woke up thinking I should really do it. So, what the heck, count me in too!

I want to lose 5.7kg to get to my pre-pregnancy weight and then probably another 4-5kg to be smack bang in the middle of my "healthy weight range" (but will reassess after this after the first loss).

Doesn't sound like much to lose, I know. But these last few kilo's are the hardest to shift! I have a terrible weakness for chocolate and sugar, if it's there I will eat it, I can't help myself. So, if there's anything I want to get out of this, at the very least, I'd like to curb my sugar and chocolate cravings. Bye bye chocolate *sniff*

OMG, I just calculated my BMI and it says I am obese I'm sooo disgusted with myself. I will need to lose up to 30kgs to be at the lower end of my healthy weight!! Though I don't think I could ever be that slim- 54kg! That's not very doable for me, though the upper end-67kg is about 4-5kgs more than I was before/when I met just DH. That's what I want to be! About 65kg......so almost 20kgs to lose, WOOOOW!! But I will do it, I have to do it. For myself, and my babies, my DD in particular, I so don't want her to have the issues I have with my body.

i have to agree that one of the big motivators for me is to get myself sorted out before my DD is old enough to realise the struggle that I go through daily with food/ weight etc- I dont want her to have that burden.

I've found by starting the day with some exercise helps be curge the urge to eat junk. I figure I've gotten up early and worked hard I'm not going to waste it. It's hard though because it means getting up before the girls and I'm not really getting much sleep as it is.

Laranna, I'm a chocoholic to and I've found that I can't get rid of it completely. As soon as I do I just want it more and end up binging. So I've kept it in my diet, but in much smaller amounts and I get the dark chocolate instead. If your worried about having it in your house you could break it up into small portions and freeze it. That way it is hard to just pick at, but if you feel you really need it you can have a small piece.

ETA: just a thought Lucy .... Could we all make up weight loss tickers (or those who want to) and you put them in a post at the start of the thread??? (saves putting them in our sig)it would give everyone a great look at how everyone is doing???
Its just a thought anyway... im not sure how everyone else would feel abt it or whatever

Captain - never thought of freezing it, thanks for that tip! I find it incredibly difficult just to stop at one piece of chocolate. I can't just eat one Tim Tam - I will eat the whole packet If I buy those multipacks of bite size choccies, I can't just stop at one, I'll go through the whole bag! I tell myself well if I get rid of it (by eating it all) asap, then it won't be in the house and thus I won't be able to eat it! It's easier if I don't buy it at all, I don't know why I do, but I'm going to try the freezing trick though.

I'm totally the same - I can't stop at just one piece. I have finally gotten rid of all the Christmas leftovers (and by that I mean I have eaten them ) so am ready to start on my challenge now. That's fantastic it goes for 3 months! Hopefully there will be enough of us to keep it going for a while

My motto for today was Be Courageous- and I was, I bit the bullet and rang the group personal training people that operate in my area and booked myself in! I go for free trial and fitness evaluation on Monday 5th Jan (day after my 29th birthday).
Im finally starting to feel excited about all of this!

Q: Whats the killer of all motivation for exercise?

    A: NOT TODAY RAIN!!

I dug out the storm cover and kept on walking
    30 mins pushing 15-25 kilos.

    Count me in too.

I'm bridesmaid for my BIL's wedding in November, don't want to be known as the "fat" bridesmaid.

I know I can do this, I lost 15kg about 12 months ago (some has found me again), so I'll just have to walk faster this time so it can't jump back on.

I have PCOS and I know if I stick to my low-gi diet and exercise that I can shift this weight.

    FIRST GOAL - 5kg

This is a great idea! SO anyone who wants me to display their ticker, please PM me your ticker code and then I will post them all in the very first post of the thread. Great inspiration for us all!

I also thought I would post a link to this blog. This lady is someone I "met" online last year: her transformation is remarkable, and her account of her journey is so candid & so honest. Enjoy!

I'm in..... my goal is ultimately to lose cm's and fit in my size 10 pants again! My weight goal is in my sig (54.7kg), but I'm not really sure how that will pan out since I'd like to build muscle.

My eating... I think I'd like to start eating 3 healthy meals a day. For exercise, my goal is to get OUT more (I do a lot of WiiFit-ing, but I'd like to give Jazz and I some fresh air) and do some early morning walking.

I'd like to do this as something for me, lose weight for ME not just Shel, eat healthy for ME not just Jazz (as I'm bfing), being able to fit into my clothes again so I am comfortable. Even though I don't have a lot to lose, I have some bad eating habits and don't take care of myself like I should so I'm hoping doing it with other people will help me change that
