littlemissmountain - put your tongue on the top of your mouth, it will help with your neck not hurting
i'm a qualified PT and i reckon the best way to do this girls is on a fit ball!!!! It hurts like hell - but really good!!!
If you want some core strength excerciises let me know - i will be happy to help you guys!!!
Can i start a day late???? Should i jump in with 75 today or work myself up????????
Also JacciPG - is it safe to do this after a cesection?? (DD is four months old- i had little to no muscle seperation when i was checked by the Physio)
4 months should b fine, but don't push yourself to hard you will personally know how hard to push your own body more than anyone, the lower ab muscles will be where you feel the pulling the most.
My normal ab workout is - circuits of 3 x 20 reps - crunches - side crunches - crunches with twist both sides - lower abs so raising straight legs up and down, but your back has to stay flat on ground or it will hurt. If you can't do straight leg then bend your knees but give atleast 1 or 2 straight legs a try every time and add to it till you can do them all straight leg. These r best for those who had a c section!
Ohhh the plank!!!!
My husband the little smartty pants can do the plank for 11 minutes!!!!! I get to 4 minutes and I shake prefusly (sp??)
You lie on the floor flat and lift your top half up onto you elbow then up on your toes keep your butt down you need to keep your body flat ( hence why it is called a plank) suck your guts in and brace your stomach, when I started I was lucky to get to 20 seconds, but keep trying and slowly increase your time if u can it's an awesome exercise!!!!!
Well i got to 40 yesterday and couldnt do anymore- so im not sure how i will go today!!! What am i supposed to do with my hands? Have them behing my head or by my side??? To be honest i cheated a few times and used them on my legs to help me sit up!!!!
