I hate that game too Onyx. My house really is usually messy and if people spring a visit on me, they see how terrible it really is, so I really hate it when they say their house is a mess and know what my house looks like!
My house is usually a tip. Some times, like today, I have one or two rooms fairly tidy and feel on top of it. But the rest of the rooms are hideous. I just shut the doors to those rooms and pretend they don't exist.
I am getting to a stage where I don't really care, or maybe it's just that I have found friends I don't feel the need to rush around like an idiot cleaning for before they come over. It is too much for me to worry about if the dishes are done and the floors vacuumed before people visit. I would rather have my friends at my house than not. Several of them have said they rather it be messy cause then they don't feel so bad when their kids trash it. Which is true, I know when I go to their houses, I feel more comfortable when it's not sparkling clean so I don't feel terrible when my kids tramp in sand or tip over the train set!
