The dishes dillema... ;)

I haven't let my DP do dishes since we moved in which was almost 2 years ago. He is so rough that he breaks things. He is always complaining about my washing skills lol im the one who leaves stuff on plates and cups.

Hehehe, you wouldn't like me then. I don't rinse dishes before they go in the dishwasher and I put everything in there that will fit including chopping boards I'll leave the baking dishes in there until they get clean or DH gets fed up hand washes it cos the dishwasher didn't clean it cos I didn't rinse it

Maybe leave him a step by step list on how you do things/how things should be done, maybe he'll take the hint

that's me too except DF doesnt wash up or touch the dishwasher, like anything around the house i ask him to do i usually correct whatever he's done wrong/different when he isnt looking

Yeah i have tried gloves, mummato1, you sound exactly like me, i do the cream, then vasaline (helps to repell any water) then cotton gloves then rubber gloves.. and sadly no hot water although i looooove it!!! I am so sad!!!

DH is one of those people who once he gets told he is doing something wrong he will basically never do it again.. so i just sit back quietly and appriciate what effort he does put in willingly!!! lol If i make a joke out of it i can usually get somewhere, but if i was to do a list OH dear lol, not gonna happen!! lol And i think he does rinse them, but i have this cool scrubby thingy that is a scrubbing brish that holds dishwashing liquid and i scrub them with that before they go in, i might just remind him that is there next time!!

Cleaning the filter is a fantastic idea!!! We have just moved to a new house too, so i might be able to get him to do it and it might be full of stuff coz i dont know if the old people were rinsers or not!! lol

I do think part of me does need to let go, it may the lesson i am supposed to learn here (trying to think of some crazy reason for my sudden onset of bizarro-world eczema psorisis on my hands and feet i have never had before!!) let go and not be so OCD about some things... i get anal about where things go in the dishwasher too... some times i re stack it after he is done.... the cutlery has to go in those little things all sorted, you cant mix knives with forks, and little spoons only go with little spoons.. but wait it gets worse.. we have a set of cutlery that goes on one of those rack things and then we have random mix and match cutlery in the drawer.... i seperate the different types of cutlery too.... yes, yes i am sad....

But today i have gone and bought some new gloves.. i used up all my gloves during the moving house clean up so freash gloves and i should be able to get my fix for the next few days and have some time with my dishwasher!!
