I am so sorry you are going through so much especially at such a young age. I am struggling with treatment options to decrease the symptoms but thankfully pain relief has not been too much of an issue. Every person is different, every woman is different and what you are experiencing will not be the same for everyone, and some things that work for some may not work for you and vice versa. I dont want you to give up hope though, I am a huge believer in natural remedies and I also work in the healthcare industry.

Unfortunately you will find with opiates, or painrelief of any kind when it is given over a long period, the effects / benefit will wear off quite quickly. It is one of the reasons why you are struggling with your current pain medication regime. It is a common thing we do see in patients with chronic pain. I am not offering any professional advice but some personal experience. I have found that by working with a doctor who believes in a combination of western and natural / eastern medicine you will have better support and results.

I am definately not saying it is the perfect cure, nor that it will make things so much better for you quickly but it is an option. What I do know from my professional experience is that any form of narcotic given over a long period of time can cause you to build up a tolerance to the drug, the very drug that is trying to decrease your pain relief.

Pain management is a very specialised area, and it is a very personal and unique journey for everyone. I just wanted to offer a few things I have found that personally helps me decrease the pain I feel. It may not remove the pain, it may not even help but it may help, and I hope it does. This isn't professional advice just my own personal experience

I find if your mind is relaxed, your body will naturally relax also (it doesnt mean you will be pain free but it may help on some level).

I personally use oil burners using Harmony or lavender essential oils,an electric blanket can help, migrastick (for those pesky migraines - it only helps if you use it early on when it starts for me anyways), buscopan, ranitidine, Elevit (weird I know but I found regularly taking this has helped even though it is a vitamin for those who are wanting to get pregnant or who are), camomile tea, honeybush tea, nurofen plus (ok that is one essential item I do need at times), I am addicted to my wheat bag, exercise (weird I know but it does help) and even the good ol' hydrobath, just walking up and back / floating etc. I am starting to do yoga and pilates so I will let you know if that personally has helped me.

Like I said, everyone is different as is every woman. My regime even though it works for me, may not work for everyone but it is something to try if you are not allergic to any of the treatments or anything along those lines. I also find staying away from soft drinks and lactose beneficial during those times too. It is why I would highly recommend you see a GP and a Naturopath, even massage if you are able to have access to it. I do know most public hospitals will offer physio at a lower price than commercial places. There may be a short waiting period to first get in but once you are in, then you can have weekly visits for as little as $10 depending on the hospital.

I wish you the best of luck and I hope you find some relief in the very near future. Take care.
