Strawberry Fields - my DH was at A Fld Bty for 8yrs and and everyone we know that came down from 4 field HATED it there. Everyone here dreaded the thought of being posted there. I hope he can get out of there!

well its official! DH got told today that we are being posted at the end of the year. so we had to quickly think of 3 places to go to.

our preferences are
1. wagga wagga
2. amberley
3. perth

and to top that off DH is being deployed overseas tomorrow for 3 months so now i am just bummed great start to an already horrible week

he would be an instructor in the school.

Is he raaf then? DH is army and he was at Raaf wagga for 18mths in STT (school of techical training) as an avtech.
We should get our posting in a month or two and i cant wait... We wont move until august but itll be good to know where we are going an try to get a house where we want!!

O M F G.... I just heard there is a rent increase in the may 26th pay?!?! $40 more a fortnight for the lowest rank/band!!!!

Are you F*ing kidding me?!?!?!?!? NO notice, no letter, no being told at work... nothing. Just an extra $40 taken out of his pay. And for what?!?! Our stupid house is way below standard yet they won't do anything about it because the contract isn't being renewed yet but the hosue next to ours is identical and it is getting heating, a proper hot water system (not hot water on demand that makes you have the water running at full blast to keep the hot water going) power garage doors (ours doesn't even F*ing open!) and air con.... oh and they are spraying the house too yet our house is infested with spiders (white tails) and they told us it is our responsibility not theirs... they have done next doors twice!!!)

We don't have a spare $40 for them to take where is the pay rise to compensate?? oh that's right... they won't increase his pay yet this is the 4th rent increase we have had in the last 2 years... stupid F*ing army... I wish we could get out of it but it's DH's dream.. I hate being an army wife. I have no friends, no family, no support... nothing.

Oh sweetie. I've lost count of the times I've had a similar rant. $40 per fortnight is quite a steep hike too.

Re the spiders, the trick is to prove an infestation in the first 6 weeks you are there- they will spray then, but any time after that you need to do it. It's worth contacting your housing manager though and talk about the problem with the spiders (and when it started ). Emphasise that you have a young baby and you are finding spiders in areas where she will be crawling around soon. If you ask nicely and mention all the other problems, they might exercise some discretion.

we did the week we moved in... the about 3 times the 2nd week, twice the 3rd n 4th weeks... then a huge blow up about 6th week we were here cause I found 2 white tails in her cot, TWO!!!!! I HATE DHA... they are so up and down! some people get everything and some people get nothing...

$40 is a HUGE hike!!! We just don't have it.. we are already on one wage and $60 above the CL threshold to qualify for rent assistance so no help from them! GRRRR....
