    Thanks Toomanytoomany.....

Chrissy, Thanks for your reassurance. It sounds like the BCC removals are something that happen in your life, something that you live with but don't allow to define you or scare you. I am hoping to move towards this too. I have fair skin and freckles too. Did you spend a lot of time in the sun as a child? My GP says most of the damage is done in the first 15 years of life. I never sun-baked (no point) and I wasn't a beach person. I am not convinced that my skin cancers have come from the sun, however. Thanks for your post.

I've just found out I have BCC as well. mine was an infiltrating one though.
I"m having MoH's done next month , with the possibility of some radiation, cos mine was there for ages.

Oh Storm, I am sorry to here that. I have read about Moh's surgery. It wasn't offered to me. I am travelling to the Gold Coast to a plastic surgeon based there. My BCC is about 3x4mm (of course, that is its size on my face, could be bigger underneath). He is going to take an extra margin but of course I won't know if it is all gone unti the pathology results come back. That's whyI like the sound of Moh's surgery. What does your BCC look like on the surface of your skin? How big is it? Have you had others? Sorry, I hope you don't think I am being nosy....

I feel for you hon. This is something that has really been playing on my mind, and I am off to get all my spots checked by my GP next week at my 6 week check up (actually ds will be 9 weeks...oops!). I am very freckly and literally have hundreds of moles and sunspots etc, and I have no idea how to keep track of them, so I am going to ask my GP to refer me to a skin specialist. I have thought about going to a skin centre, but I was worried that it would just be a "money making" thing, and that they would just whip off whatever the saw? I noticed that during my pregnancy lots of my spots really darkened up, and the thing is that all of mine are abnormal shapes and sizes, something that they tell you to look for, but I think that they have always been like that? And literally EVERYWHERE I look I hear stories about skin cancers etc, and I wonder if this is God trying to tell me to do something about it, and get checked. Hmm, scary stuff. I am sure that you will be fine, and good on you for being proactive and getting it checked. I hope it goes well.

    You're not nosey hun!
It was about 3cms round & is in between my nose & lip.It looked like a blood blister only it was hard &_ bled alot when I picked at it.
I've never had any other cancer spots before, so I didn't know what it was, I just thought it was hormones or something for being pregnant.
Being infiltrating means that it kind of drops seeds all under the skin, that's why I have to have the MoH's done cos there could be thousands of them under my skin. Not really looking forward to having a huge scar on my face, I just hope they don't have to cut too big.Even though they cut tactfully it's going to be along the line of my top lip up to my nose argh imagine trying to eat with stitches right along there lol!!
