No family history of BC, although there is a family history (grandparents) with prostate and liver cancer, they think there's a genetic relationship but no one has worked out what the gene expression is yet. So until then, no family history LOL.
I don't know what you mean by the differnet colours, both my mammo and U/S were done on pretty old black & white (or green) type machines. I'm wondering if they've used one of those new fangledy thermothingammies on you (which the jury is still out on), or some type of digital compositing? Anyway, the reality is there is no way of knowing for sure until they have done a biopsy, and often the needle/core biopsy just shows there is or isn't something wrong, but not what. Many women get the all-clear from the biopsy, but if there is disease there, it takes a lumpectomy to get an actual diagnosis. So the dr was probably just indicating that there was an abnomality that needs further investigation. Some of the abnormalities that they investigate will turn out to be benign.
In my case, they knew there was a large tumour in my breast because I'd had a PET scan to work out where else there was lymphoma in my body, but even then they had to wait until the biopsy results came back before they could say it was any type of breast cancer (it could've been lymphoma), and even then they didn't know whether it was invasive or contained (had to wait until my lumpectomy results came in). So it's a slow process of going through the steps until you know more. It can be really tough waiting for those results, so look after yourself and do what you need to cope, ok? xxx
