Kim how did you go with expressing? Did you get any advice from the midwife re: what machine to use. Ive only ever used an avent manual pump which i didnt find very gentle. I wouldnt worry about only getting colostrum, its good for the baby anyway! Sorry you couldnt get a straight answer in your other thread - some people feel like they have to over-analyse and give their 2c worth I guess
Congratulations Jaki and welcome little Wyatt!!!! Thats wonderful news that he didnt need to stay in special care. Hope the attachment issues have been sorted xx
AFM... I had an OB appt yesterday and Im definitely booked in for a c/sect first thing on 12th April at 38+1 weeks. I asked about the baby having to go into special care and he said that its likely (because im now on 60units a day) and he's thinking at that level bubs will need monitoring for about 48hrs but that it depends on who the paed is. When I told him who ours was, he said that our paed was more relaxed than some of the older ones and is usally happy for the baby to stay with mum as long as things are stable. Apparently he's great with GD cases so I still have hope!! My levels have finally stabilised and will hopefully stay that way. Have another appt with OB next week - only 3 weeks to go!!!!
ETA: I had a scan last Wednesday to measure bubs and make sure all was well and it seems that the baby is right on 50th percentile so by no means a big baby which was a huge relief!!
